Does the conference have a signature win this year?
Alabama is the best in the league and I'm hard pressed to tell you their signature win.
Just a rough year all around

When Alabama wins the National Title it will cover up a lot of shite, like newspaper in a birdcage.

The SEC isn't good but neither is any other conference. Down year overall Bc there aren't many great QBs.

Maybe. But I hear this from a decently sized contingent of LSU and Auburn fans every year Bama makes a run.

Pretty sure the conference has a winning OOC record.

Bama beat whisky
aubbie beat Louisville
lsu beat Syracuse
a&m beat Arizona state
so Car beat N.C.

Of Course Tenn chocked against Oklahoma
Fla against FSU

But what league had great OOC wins?

Just because SEC teams beat other SEC teams doesn't mean the league is weak.

Don't go on Landthieves with that logic. They have the best qbs in the land according to them. Their qbs don't look good because of crap defense, no, the defenses are crap because the qbs are so good.

Outside of NW beating Stanford and Michigan State beating Oregon, what other big wins can any other conference stand on?

Aren't great but better than the SEC wins.

The SEC is clearly not the runaway dominant conference that it was during the BCS era.

The last two years have been quite down, especially this year.

Maybe the SEC ain't as great as usual but I bet our top 6 teams go 6-0 vs every other conference's top 6.

We've had some bad losses and near misses....

Toledo over Arky
Texas Tech over Arky
Western Kentucky over Vandy
Memphis over ole miss.
Citadel over SC

Georgia survives GA Tech
auburn survives Jacksonville st
Florida survives Florida Atlantic

And never won a big one

Clemson over SC
FSU over Florida
Oklahoma over Tenn

Winning the national title alone doesn't make a conference great. I mean FSU won it in 2013 and the ACC was garbage.

What made the SEC the best conference in the BCS era was not only winning the national title, but the top and middle of the SEC would go out in bowl season and dominate and the SEC usually only had 1 or 2 really bad teams.

Well the last few years, we now have about 5 really bad teams and the middle of the SEC does not dominate in bowls (mostly losing actually) and of course the national championships, which still carry a lot of weight, have gone elsewhere.

The SEC has fallen off at the top, middle, and bottom.

Are you drunk? We will be lucky to go 3-3 with our top teams in the bowl games this year. QB and coaching are the 2 most important things in CFB. The SEC has horrible QB play and suspect coaching. Hell, half the teams have coaches on the hot seat and the other half are new on the job.

This is the worst I've ever seen the SEC (and I've been watching for 30 years), especially the East. I don't think the East teams could compete well in the MAC or AAC. It's fukking awful.

If your top 6 includes Georgia and Florida then that is highly unlikely. I can't see those teams beating anyone in the top 60.
