In defense of OP, it was against OM. They're giving up 500+ yards and and 40 points against SEC-West foes so Etling probably didn't need to look past his first option very often.

Ouch!!! In all seriousness I have watched every play because I am an LSU fan and Etling goes through his progressions very well. It is actually one of the biggest things that us LSU fans have noticed because we haven't done it but one year in the last 11.

He's doing what he's asked to do, so I can't fault him for that.

However, what the hell with the play-action where you then throw it to the RB you just play-faked to? That seems counterproductive. Throw that damn play out, LSU.

You should really take heed to the great quote of Jim Mora, Sr. about people who are not in the game and who think they know what they are looking at in terms of the finer points.
You think you know, but you really don't.

If a Purdue castoff beats us.....

meh, he is ok, , decent on out routes, fairly competent but that was Ole Miss and Mizzou. Those may be, along with ok state and TTU, the worst defenses in the P5.

The only other time I watched a game that involved Etling was when LSU played AU, and I don't recall him doing anything worth remembering in that game, so it was probably more of the same

He beat y'all on a game-winning pass.
