Looks like his worst game was against arkansas.
Meh. Less yards and more ints vs LSU. I am calling it his worse game

Total stats:

vs Arky 342 yards, 3 tds, 1int

vs LSU 270 yards, 1 TD, 2ints

So yeh, his worst game was vs lsu

Lol not with Hurts

If LSU stacks the box, then that leaves 1 on 1 coverage on Ridley and Stewart. Hurts has had some bad misses, but our WR's have and will go up and get a ball of he gets it near them.

Not a recipe to win by doing it the majority of the game, but I think they take a shot or two if LSU leaves the door open

They may be able to hit one or two if they can't get pressure on Hurts. If LSU can contain and put a lot of pressure on Hurts I think they pull the upset. LSU can't afford to let Hurts get first downs with his feet.

Bama would be foolish to try that more than a couple times. If it's one thing LSU does well, it's lock your outside receivers down.

I noticed that OM found their only success through the air.
Because OM has no running game - they have to rely solely on the air attack.

To me, this is an essential question.

Hurts didn't complete but 1 pass for 10+ yards against atm. If LSU can keep him from scrambling for 1st downs, they may have a good chance in this game.

And yet, they still didnt have success in the air Not sure why the OP and Bama fans keep claiming they did

How is LSU's pass rush?

How do their corners hold up in coverage?

If key senses a mismatch, the rush is deadly. If Key gets a step on his guy, it's very disruptive and if you try t double him. it makes it easier for Lewis Neal who is no slouch either

The corners depending on scheme become very effective. If Aranda thinks he can get away with press coverage on the WR's the longest you'll get is about 15 yards and that will be due to a PI call that you guys seem to get when you want . In zone coverage there are sometimes gaps particularly between the hash and sideline at 15-17 yards

45 yards of which were 5 dink and dunk completions, from his own 2 yard line to close to mid field, down 18pts with under 2 minutes left.
And let's not forget that third easy int that two dbs made a play on knocking the ball out of each other's hands.

Kelly didn't do shite

The best bet is to play safeties back and hope your DL plays the Bama OL to a standstill, then make Hurts beat you in the middle of the field. Problem is Alabama's OL has been playing at a high level and I'm not sure LSU has the horses up front to do that.

That's not going to happen. Our DL is too small. Our only true space eating NT is Valentine and he can't play more than 5 plays in a row. We will have to stack the box to stop the power run game. Fortunately, we've yet to see Hurts take advantage of that.

(1) Hurts can avoid the initial wave and then have wide green space in front of him. And if that happens, he's gonna go for 50 yards.

That's what concerns me. I don't like our linebackers odds against Hurts in the open field. He's too shifty and fast.

I really don't think Kiffin will draw up an aggressive game plan for Hurts. If LSU can do one thing well, it's defend the pass. Kiffin knows the weakness is at the (depth) D-Line. I'd expect a heavy dose of the running game and some conservative play action passes.

The Tigers will have to play very disciplined in order to win. Defensive front must stay in their lanes no matter what. Let the LB's make the plays on runs. If Hurts is going to run, make him go lateral for as long as you can . You can put up with Hurts grabbing a few 4-5 ard runs if he is running wide. What you do not want is to open up gaps in the middle for him to throw or run

Kiffin has two weeks to design a game plan for Hurts. I expect a heavy dose of OJ Howard and a few screens to Harris and Jacobs. May even see some designed roll outs for Hurts to take the pressure off.
One play we hadn't see all season was the shovel pass to OJ. Thought that was a nice wrinkle vs TAMU.

Its gonna be a chess match all night

13 of his points and about 150 of his yards against Alabama were down 18 with 3 minutes left as well.

Agree - there is zero chance we take chances against LSU's DBs. We are going to run the football and try and throw off the run and get guys in space.

I think, defensively, LSU can really limit the Alabama offense. I really don't think Alabama can score more than 28 offensively (hoping y'all have no defensive touchdowns as well). Sadly, it's the other side that concerns me. I don't like our offensive line against Alabama's and I have a gut feeling Etling will toss up a couple of picks.

I'm thinking it'll be something like 27-14

Bama is much more balanced than ole miss so I think they'll have more 1 on 1 shots. Both teams will be looking to have success off playaction
