That is what Arky thought about Toledo last year. Toledo was a good team that received little respect. App state could be a similar team.

there's always a team that creeps up on a P5 team every year. Outliers do not change the fact that App State is a rent-a-win team for Tennessee.

Yeah they caught lightening in a bottle one year and everyone still cringes when they play a P5 team. LSU beat the brakes off of them the next year with one of our worst teams this century.

Toledo would have beaten Appalachian State by 40 points last year.

yep, and that app state team had most of the same players they did when they beat Michigan, a team that ended up winning 10 games and beating Tim Tebow in their bowl game. Upsets happen sometimes

Bowling Green hung with them for a bit last year. But Bowling Green was a pretty good team last year. Not sure if Appy State is on the same level.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see us turn it over on the first drive, but there's no doubt in my mind we cover the spread.

Hard to take your foot off the gas of a team built on the run. It is why all those great running teams from OU and NU always had so many ridiculous blowouts. What are they supposed to do in the 4th quarter, start throwing the ball?

Bowling Green played one commen opponent as Appy State last year, Ohio. Appy State won by 2, Bowling Green won by about 40.

Toledo fricking destroyed Arkansas State, and Arkansas State boatraced Appy State.

We run a fast tempo, when we get a lead, Butch slows the tempo, and the offense essentially grinds to a halt. It's a habit he needs to break this year.

App State's coach feels like that win actually hurts them a little bit going into games like this because before that upset teams would overlook them but that doesn't happen now.

Vols finna feel some Watauga County pain.

ETA: If the alma mater keeps it within two scores, or Lord willing, wins, I'm never going to stop talking shite to Tennessee fans.

Easy. Run dive plays using your backups. No reason to keep running triple option with your starters up 50 points.
