because then we have the same issues that we have now where we will hardly get to visit any of the eastern schools who arent our permanent opponent

My only complaint is that this basically gives LSU a walk in the park to Atlanta every single year.... Putting 5 of the "Big 6" on one side is just a bit off balance IMO.

I would take that but the West would be worse than the east now.

Well, I'd prefer that Auburn and Alabama move East. At that point we could just drop permanent games all together as Alabama/Tennessee and Georgia/Auburn would be in the same division, and we all know LSU hates it anyway as they are the only other one with a rival permanent game (Florida).

But the league would never allow that to happen.

9 Game schedule for each scenario

Would you prefer one or no perm rivals except for Bama with two (UT & Auburn).

or

Everyone keeps 1 perm rivals and Bama chooses between UT & Auburn?

What crawled up your arse? Is this really any different than the other 50 threads on the subject over the last 3-6 months? No, it's not. Simply, a new author/alter started it.

meh. A&M will eventually be a major player once we hire the right coach so i dont think LSU will have a walk in the park every year but yes, losing alabama would definitely make the SEC divisions unbalanced

No one wants that except Bama/UT/Aub

Like we said, we want to keep the iron bowl. The scenario would even allow for a rematch in atlanta, so this is kinda bull shite.

As for the rest of the post, number of times played doesn't immediately constitute rivalry. It's very heavily favored to auburn with our 62-26-2 lead for miss state for example.

and this is an empty statement because your AD knows that it puts bama in a shitty position where they would have to drop the UT game in order to keep the iron bowl

Not an alter, just new here. I started this to seriously ask what y'all thought. I haven't seen a well thought out argument against auburn moving to the east and whole lot of "hurr durr pussies" and "hurr durr frick auburn".

I would like that as well.

It would fix the permanent/historic rivalries.

But yeah, I am with you, there is no chance they would allow it. Maybe if Texas A&M or Arkansas become really strong?

what are you talking about?

multiple posters have brought up that, if auburn was to move to the east, it better be prepared to lose its game with alabama because going to a 9 game schedule only for the conference to adopt two permanent cross division opponents defeats the whole purpose

I don't think it is happening unless Bama is going to get to play Tenn still

Again I'm wondering if 9 games is inevitable from the playoff committee since the the Big 10 and PAC 12 already do it. Some bitching and whining from them about it not being fair, tougher paths, blah blah..

Agree, but now have to solve for UGA, USC, UF permanent Power 5 OOC rivalries. This is why Muschamp and company are against 9 games

Then you don't actually want to have a discussion and just wanted to hear what you believe to be true already.

Why do people keep saying we are trying to avoid Bama to get to SECCG? We are the only team in the Saban at Bama era to do anything of note in the SEC. You don't make changes like this anyway based on current circumstances because college football is cyclical. AU has won the West in '93, '97, '00, '04, '10, and '13. Thats pretty consistent. This has nothing to do with the IB or dodging Bama.

It is clear why Auburn was forced to the west. Equal distribution of historical winning programs. However, the addition of A&M and the struggles UT has now that many of the recruiting markets that they used to cherry pick a few players from are more likely to keep the home grown talent due to everyone having TV exposure means the East could use Auburn and the west has bama, LSU and A&M. Step it up A&M.

Just make a 9 game schedule. Bama keeps both rivalrues. Plus more sec games, less shite games. Fixed.
