Doesn't arkansas have the chance of playing mizzou in the sec championship too? It's not really a big deal. We could go further and jist get rid of division and have the best 2 teams play.

Just admit you're scared of playing Bama cause you know Bama isnt giving up the TSIO so the Iron Bowl will have to end. Just admit it and I will support your bid to run away

You could get another sec team every year if we play a 9 game schedule. Like georgia

That doesn't help the rotation for Vandy, Kentucky, Mizzou, Auburn, and Florida. It'll be the same every 7 years.

I was responding to the allegation that Auburn is running from Bama.

The obvious main reason is the 2 main schools in your state are rivals and would be in separate divisions. I definitely see more pros than cons. And with a 9 conference game schedule, Alabama could keep their perma-rivalry with Tennessee.

That's bullshite. Maybe the grandpas, but a 15 year old auburn fan in 1992 is 40 years old now and he's seen 24 years of games against LSU every season. A 40 year old Bama fan has stronger connections to Florida because they've met in Atlanta so many times. Maybe Bama should move to the east and Auburn should just stop Georgia as their permanent opponent.

And newsflash, it's not about Auburn. The SEC isn't going to restructure divisions because Auburn wants an easier path to Atlanta.

Doesn't Auburn and MSU share a lot of alumni?

You're right. It's not all about Auburn. It's about making travel easier and cheaper for the other East schools too.

The only thing stopping this is Bama and Tennessee.

This is pathetic. You act like Saban will be there forever. Again, 90s Florida and Tennessee dominated the league, Sabans run will end one day. Keep the Iron Bowl and play 9 conference games like Saban wants. That's the best solution.

im all for moving to the east only because geographically it makes the most sense. Auburn's Rivals are NOT mainly in the EAST. Miss state is the longest rivalry after UGA, followed by Bama. So 2 out our top 3 rivals are west teams and that's the most rational argument for Auburn staying the west. That and it just looks awesome on paper to say you are in the best division in college football and being able to compete for chips year in and out.

I would love for Auburn to have the opportunity to lose to Bama twice in the same season.

I'd rather have the opportunity to play a cool OOC game every once in a while than not have that opportunity. I don't really care about playing most SEC West schools any more often than we already do.

No one can. TSIO is a lopsided shite show. And God who wants to go to Columbia and College Station.

I really don't care about this issue that much but you're full of shite with this post. Just on this thread I've seen more discrete reasons on why it's a bad idea than why it's a good one. It makes the divisions extremely unbalanced, from a historical perspective. The Big 6 is an actual thing, we've seen that play out over and over. I do think UT will come back but even if not, look at the SEC west if Auburn were to move. Ole Miss is about to be a complete afterthought. A&M hasn't shown they can really do anything (although they do have potential). Mizzu...just no. And Alabama is obviously due for a big step back when Saban retires.

In other words, I disagree with some on here saying AU just wants an easier path. I think over the long run this would create an East that is far superior to the West.

Why not just make Bama play Aub & UT every year. Everyone else can rotate. That way the west and east can play more often with the exception of the schools with perm rivals.

Yeah Jacobs totally wants to give up the iron bowl.
