Which will cut your first down runs to 5 yarders if Alabama tackles like it does. I would say Alabama holds Auburn to 4.5 yards per carry.

I'd be worried at 4.5 ypc. I expect more like 2.8

So you are expecting bama to do better than their average by about .4 a carry against the by far best rushing offense they have faced?

Don't try to use common sense with them. They're irrational.

Then do you think Auburn is going to block well enough to keep up that 4.3 average?

I think I saw somewhere where Auburn averages like 5 or 6 yards before being touched.

Good luck with that against Bama.

Fair enough, what are Auburn's yards after contact ranking?

If you can, you should. Nothing like it.

And I am sure would be interesting as a third party.

There's very little chance that happens. I can see mid 3s, but the offensive line is too good to not do better than 2.8. Plus, Tre Mason very rarely gets a negative play.

I'd probably end up rooting for Auburn because they're the home team. I'm a sucker like that.

Auburn won't get 5 YPC if they only attempt 7-8 passes like against Arkansas and Tennessee.

When playing teams like arky and tenn, you only have to pass it 7-8 times. Don't worry, our offensive genius of a coach will have a plan.

This is a hilarious thread. Yards before contact, yards after contact...who gives a shite?

It's gonna be the #78 ranked rushing team in YPG...Auburn, 148 YPG and 4.07 YPC, vs. the #1 ranked team against the run in YPG, Alabama, 76 YPG and 2.43 YPC.

And then it's gonna be the #16 ranked running team, Alabama, 227 YPG and 5.6 YPC, against the (gulp!) 97th ranked team against the run, Auburn, 198 YPG and 4.9 YPC.

Auburn has one of the shittiest run defenses in the country and will be trying to stop one of the best running offenses in the country. And the question is about how well Alabama will be able to tackle?
