If you watch any of the sport networks, all they talk about is Cam Newton and how he is the new face of the NFL. It has been 24/7 the last three weeks and it looks like it will not end anytime soon. The "Look at me" Bammers are in a rage, because the Tide just won their 4th NC under Saban, and they get One News Cycle (24 hours) on all the Sports Networks after the game and a few short pieces with recruiting. The only way they can find someone to talk about their greatness, is to watch Finebaum and is Howdy Doody sidekick McElroy.

The hate for Cam will continue, because they will mention AU every time they talk about Cam. I think they are doing an interview with his Father soon. And maybe a Saturday Night Live appearance.

They will not mention AU every time they talk about Cam. In fact, I haven't even heard one mention of the Barn whenever Cam makes an appearance on TV.

Keep living in your fantasy world.

That would be awesome! Peyton Manning was awesome on there!

All I've heard is "former Blinn College QB and petty thief Cam Newton".

Why is it Auburn fans seem to think Cam's success in the NFL will translate to greater success for Auburn? Peyton played for UT, Brady for Michigan, Rodgers for Cal. All NFL stars played college somewhere. Yes most Bama fans don't like Cam, but how exactly does him being in the Super Bowl diminish Bama winning the national title? That is a stretch even for a aub.

Cam spent more time at Florida than at Auburn.

Add his criminal background and he's 100% an Urban Meyer player.

It doesn't.
But it is definitely good PR for Auburn.

Sure they are. There are two Cam threads on the first 5 pages of tRant. This is one and the other was started by Larry, who is loathed by all.

He's a great player but oozes arrogance. All of the showboating and dancing will cause some people to hate him. It's just the way it is.

All of the BS about him being hated because he's black just makes it worse.

FWIW I think it's great when he gives the fans the football in the crowd.

How so? The highest profile player in the NFL is an Auburn grad who took the team to the NC and won a Heisman? Clearly everybody still associates him with that, good or bad.
You think Auburn coaches won't use that in recruiting too?

I didn't say it diminished it, it just shows that most of the country doesn't care. When one player is getting 10 times the pub then an entire program, it shows that College Football is regional at best and has a short shelf life.
