Cam Newton
Take away that stout defense made up of 2 UGA studs (Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis) and Cam is still the 20th best QB in the NFL. So what I’m trying to say is, you’re welcome on behalf of the University of Georgia.
On the topic of Pro Bowl selections, how in the hell did Nick Foles not make the team? Kiko Alonso? Knowshon? Lavonte David? Marcel Dareus? Desean Jackson? The Pro Bowl is garbage.

The fact that Cam does what he does with his God awful receiving core and running game still amazes me. A past his prime Smith, a 3rd WR at best LaFell, whoever the hell his TE is. A mediocre RB who waits til the last two games to show up, another one who is constantly injured, and a rookie who doesn't even see the field.
They need to go after Ebron in the first round and a WR in the second.

And this means what, exactly?
Shall we compare all UGA NFL players against all Aub NFL players and see who has had the most pro bowls?
What exactly would that prove? Nothing aside from sheer idiocy.

I lol'd hard at this, considering its his own defense.
Also this thread is just further proof of who is really obsessed with who in this rivalry. People continue to claim georgia is 'butthurt' about something, when its auburn fans constantly starting threads like this. Oh well.
It's only the truth. Newton is awiite as a QB, but would be nowhere in the conversation without that defense.

Can someone explain the whole Auburn wanting to be Georgian thing?
State of Georgia>>>>>>>>> Alabama, national and regional perception.
Bama fans think it is a slam on Auburn, because some folks nationally think Auburn is in Georgia.

I've watched Carolina since Cam got there and the difference now is Carolina wins games in the 4th quarter and in the last 2 minutes whereas the first year or so they lost a lot of those games. I think they went 6-10 their first season with him with 5 or 6 one score losses. Now they've flipped that.
I mean at UGA he'd been a tight end, but after Gus he becomes a Pro Bowler. It's Gus.

They drafted a stud ILB, and the front 7 may be the best in the NFL. Cam is a solid QB, but he needs to let his defense do the work and not screw things up. It’s a simple formula for winning in the post season

So reminded me how are the UGA fans the obsessed ones?

Since 70% of the state is made up of bammer fans, and the majority are updyke-like, AU fans kind of smile and say nothing when the national perception is that we're from anywhere besides Alabama. Georgia will do because it's close. I would think a big percentage of AU grads move away from Alabama except for the ones lucky enough to live in Auburn.
Oh, and the Cam following? He is fun to watch, he loves the same school we do, and it gives great satisfaction to see him disprove everyone's predictions for him.

Cam Newton makes the Pro Bowl, and Nick Foles doesn't? That's insane.
Do the players vote on this? If so, I think I know what the deal is.

Would you want to admit to living in Alabama? I don't blame the auburn people for trying but sorry you belong to the state of Alabama.

Huh? He was picked first overall, for fricks sake.

Jesus, do you have the cognitive capacity of a 12 year old? Let me spell this out for you.
1. Carolina has one of the best defenses in the NFL, thanks in large part to its front 7. A front 7 made up of 2 former Dawgs.
2. Now let's focus on Cam's numbers. He is 20th in QBR behind the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sam Bradford, etc.
So if you take away the success of the defense you're left with the 20th rated passer in the league. In other words, you don't have a team 1 win away from a Division title.
Cam is a solid QB, as is Stafford. Neither of the two will be confused with Elway, Peyton or Montana. But a solid troll effort by the OP, he got more than a few bites. Validation threads are always encouraging for the opposition.

Of course he was picked first overall. His talent is there for everyone to see. I'm talking about the media blowhards and rival fans who were certain he didn't have what it took to succeed in the NFL. Poor work ethic, fake smile, etc.
