Great college player. Maybe the best individual college player of all time. As a pro, he is clearly not an elite quarterback. He can get there, but he objectively has a long way to go.

a 60% completion rating, 21TD avg season with over 3000 yards despite passing to nobodies all the while averaging over 600 yards rushing is pretty solid.

He clearly is getting better and puts his team in a position to win. If his OLine wasn't garbage and the only person to throw to wasn't older than father time (steve smith) he would be truly elite. Unlike the other young and up and coming QBs though, he has no run game, no line and no WRs yet still makes things happen

It's hilarious that you think we care. We'll root for a guy to do well in the pros, sure. I love watching AJ catch TD's and Knowshon crawl for a first down. But I really don't give enough of a shite to gloat about it unless they play for the Falcons. I've never seen a fanbase hang from a guy's nuts like Auburn does from Cam.

It would be interesting to see his numbers if he were in a slightly better situation. For example, of he were playing for Harbaugh in San Fran or Carroll in Seattle.

Still, he has had a pretty solid start to his career even with some of the built in disadvantages at Carolina.

I know 2 Auburn friends who changed NFL allegiences from the Falcons to the Panthers when Newton was drafted. I'm only friends with a few, so that's my sample size.

I'm pulling for the Panthers to win it all this year, only because the Birds suck, and I don't want the aints to win. I don't consider the panthers a real rival, so I have no problem pulling for them when it doesn't affect the Birds.

I lol'd hard at this, considering its his own defense.

Also this thread is just further proof of who is really obsessed with who in this rivalry. People continue to claim georgia is 'butthurt' about something, when its auburn fans constantly starting threads like this. Oh well.

Can someone explain the whole Auburn wanting to be Georgian thing?

I think that's obviously fine. I'm talking about people totally turning their back on their previous team.

I'm not a Falcons or Panthers fan so I don't really care, just thought it was funny.

I'm surprised Evan Mathis didn't make it.
