You believe in Santa Claus too?

It is shocking that LSU fans can survive 24 hours with how stupid and delusional they are

Bub it's OK you paid Cam and got away with it. I'm not naive I'm sure LSU paid some folks too.

So you shouldn't be either....I'd embrace it if I were you. You gamed the system and won the ultimate prize and didn't get caught....exactly how they draw it up.

If it's not traceable, it didn't happen. It's all about what you can prove. I'm sure none of the Ole Miss prospects had a Corrupt Preacher Father that could use a house of God to launder the money through.

Oh I don't doubt that impermissible benefits happen, I'm very proud of our bagmen efforts.

That Cam Newton "payment" you allude to just didn't happen. That is a

ETA

Why are you debating semantics here.....Cam Newton received money in some form from Auburn. I don't pretend to know how much....but in one way or the other he was paid to come to Auburn and play football. No doubt about it.

Just for the record, I don't doubt that Cam got some extra benefits during his Heisman year. I wouldn't even be shocked if he got some gravy to come to Auburn.

$180,000 to come to Auburn? We won't even buy soda for our coaching staff, we aren't shelling ~$200k for a JUCO kid. Get real

Those people were basically handed AU and Miami on a silver platter and just simply F'd both of those situations up. I'm utterly clueless to the facts of how Mark Emmert is still the president of the NCAA, but you can place direct blame on him for Miami for sure.

LOL

NCAA walked away from a year in Auburn with absolutely nothing. The only thing the NCAA actually had was Cam's dad's admission of solicitation. Arguably they could have invented some bullshite to make him ineligible and thus wreck Auburn's season, but they STILL didn't have a single piece of evidence implicating AU in any payment (or that any payment from anyone to anyone ever happened).

"silver platter"

Frick Cam Newton. Bama players have western union receipts from agents and nothing happened.

So that doesn't mean they weren't handed a situation that could have easily resulted in penalties on a silver platter.

The fact that they couldn't find what they needed to close the deal was the screw up.

Granted the bigger screw up was Miami. That was a real cluster.

I have no problem in agreeing that Cam Newton/Newton Family received the same or less compensation as Leonard Fournette at LSU

What were the penalties?

A retroactive determination that Auburn played an ineligible player after Auburn performed a good faith investigation before the season and found no evidence of NCAA violations (which the NCAA eventually agreed with), in addition to complying fully with all aspects of the NCAA's investigation?

That doesn't strike me as a "silver platter" scenario.
