But if they want to take puberty blockers, that is just fine.

I think it's a good idea. Young bodies still in critical growth stage then. Why not flag football for those under that age?

It’s a good idea. They should play flag.

Not a bad idea. I love football and loved playing football. But peewee football is beyond stupid. We see how it impacts pro player’s brains. There’s no telling how bad it is for kids

It’s actually probably smart from a growth standpoint

Their functional mechanics are completely different by the time they’re juniors in HS. There’s not really any benefit to having them hit each other with that kind of force as kids, just to force them to relearn all the fundamentals after they go through puberty

They play flag football until the 7th grade here.

They used to start in the 5th grade with full contact but participation fell off so they switched to flag. 7 on 7, it’s still fun to watch.

Yea, I agree, it’s probably not a great idea for that young of kids to play football. But the Government shouldn’t be the one making decisions for our children. So no it’s not a good idea.

Country’s getting soft. Not surprised to see the Millennials here cheerleading this.

I started full contact in 4th grade. I only stutter and forget things sometimes!

They’ll start with 12.

Then they’ll make it 14.

Then they’ll just say let’s ban football from high school (Full contact).

It really is a good idea. My parents wouldn't let me play until 8th grade...and that's probably a good thing in more ways than one. A lot of kids I knew who played pee wee were burned out on football before they ever reached high school. Seems being insane is a requirement for coaching pee wee (or Pop Warner) football.

nah, 7th or 8th grade is a good time to get kids a taste of real football. Nobody is big enough to do any real damage at that age..or at least they weren't when I played in the 90's.

Many don’t realize that you learn a lot of technique when tackling at a time like junior high. Learning proper fundamentals at 13 or 14 can actually make the game safer.

Anybody actually been to peewee games.

They don’t hit hard enough to hurt each other… maybe the 11-12 year-olds.

They basically, fall on top of each other with the younger kids.
The good organizations teach how to tackle for middle school.

Please keep that soft mentality out of the south.
