So you'd take a lesser player who played a full slate then a guy who suffered an injury but even post-injury still leads the nation (and those who played a full slate) in several defensive stats because he was just that good?
Will have to agree to disagree. But I'm sure you're just going to call me a homer again or something.
ETA: And he calls me homer on the edit. Shocking.

Noel deserved his defensive accolades, but he certainly far from deserved to be on 1st or 2nd team All-SEC.
I can agree with that. I'm sure you could provide a pretty rational argument to back that up. Your boy on the other hand is just arse hurt about a Kentucky player getting an award. Just like he's asshurt when he trolls our game threads too.

nevermind. I was wrong about number of double doubles, but stokes was the only guy to average a double double in SEC play

I don't think Hickey is a lesser defender, homer. He is an undersized guard. Obviously he and Noel play different positions. I'm sure our 4 UF posters can tell us who the best defender on the third ranked ppg defense is. By way of comparison, Kentucky was 126th in ppg defense (a difference of about 12 ppg on average).

I don't think it's fair to look at Noel's per game averages, such as blocks per game, because those could have gone down over the course of games he missed. However, his raw numbers were so great that it's hard not to consider him for DPOY. I don't mind debating who else is deserving, but have no problem with Noel actually getting it.

Don't feed the basketball ignorant troll.

FWIW, Tennessee has Maymon this season and Stokes probably ends up the SEC POY going away.

You're not counting very well
11 in league play
Edit - just saw you edited

Do we need to bump my thread? KCP is the clear winner

I mean he's talking team defensive ppg at this point. Really?

Stokes and JOB3 both had 14 double doubles. Stokes had more in league play and had better numbers in league play, but I can understand them giving it JOB with McRae already on the 1st team for us.

True. Could've also gone up as well given the pace he was working at (and unfortunately he was improving at the time of his injury too).

I don't mind either. But it's ridiculous that I'm getting called a homer because I think he still deserves it. So far we have an Ole Miss fan and a Mizzou fan who seems to agree. Guess you all must be big UK homers too along with the majority of the coaches in the SEC.

I was just looking at Stokes' season splits, you guys must have gone mad when he went 1-10 from the line at Auburn.

Gonna lead us to the big dance this week! Lets go

Yep. Cuonzo yanked him from that one pretty quick. Only played 24 minutes and still missed 9 free throws.

LSU was horrid at the line this year. It will make you lose some serious hair.

he's really inconsistent offensively, but in age he's only a Freshman. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a drastic improvement going into 13-14. Your normal Freshman to Sophomore transition, a lot like JOB this year.
He should have been playing highschool last year, but was ruled ineligble by the TSSAA.

Being 6'8" in high school basketball is like being Wilt in his prime.
