Even if Cal doesn’t workout in the long run, his hiring elevates the program even further. Everyone is talking about Cal to Arkansas, even during the women’s national championship game and men’s national championship day.

Top 10 might be a stretch for RIGHT NOW. He's a top 10 active in terms of career achievements, no doubt, but you'd have to be blind to not see how poorly his teams have done over the past 6-7 years. The trend is not a positive one for him at this point.

A top 10 coach yesterday according to whom? He is a good coach but his days of being great are pretty far behind him. He hasn’t made it past the first weekend of the tournament in 5 years. He has had double digit losses in 3 out of his last 4 seasons. He is 65 years old

That’s because of where he’s coming from. Everyone was talking about whether Cal would be fired before it was announced he was staying 1 more year. If Cal was coming from any other SEC program, this is 2nd page news (just look at the candidates being discussed from KY…could impact NBA).

That’s no disrespect to Arkansas, it’s just no one has the history of KY in the SEC.

You’re missing the point. Arkansas is getting a ton of coverage and it only elevates our prestige. Recruits and potential future coaches are paying attention.

I think you’re missing the point.

Muss didn’t have problems recruiting until he angered the money. You think Cal at Arky is going to out recruit Donovan, Drew, Oats, etc. at KY? You think he’s going to out coach them?!?!

We once got turned down by Rich Rod in football. Ended up with Saban. Your leadership panicked, and made a bad decision. It’s harder these days with portal, but they panicked

When did I say Arkansas was going to be out recruiting any coach at Kentucky? I’m simply saying Arkansas with Cal will be bringing in a lot of talent especially with our massive NIL open.

As for our so called leadership, Yurachek screwed up the Beard hire. Luckily, Tyson saved his arse.

They were out coaching Cal at KY and recruiting just fine with Muss. There are 15 hires they could have made and had a very good chance to best KY in the next 2-3 years, but they literally made the only hire that pretty much guaranteed they won’t by essentially canceling a 33mm debt for them.

Guess we’ll see how this all shakes out in a few years.

Arky wins more games than UK next year. And goes deeper in the tourney.
