Now he’s shite

There should be fear when Arkansas is giving more NIL money than Kentucky and taking their coach who wants out of there.

I wonder if UK is about to be hit with sanctions so he is getting out of dodge.

I’ve been laughing at Kentucky and Cal for a few years now. Don’t expect me to feel like this is a big win for Arkansas. The only good thing here is the massive NIL money

John Calipari leaving Kentucky has been on the table going back to February, sources tells CBS Sports.

He privately expressed significant/serious interest in the Ohio State job but the timing wasn’t right, per source. Arkansas coming available was a dream shot out of Lexington.

Ohio State could've waited to hire JC - but they hired a never-been-a-head-coach before former player instead of JC -

It’s almost like Arkansas fans are trying to convince themselves that this is a good hire.

UK just hired a new name brand womens BB coach and is retooling the roster. Cal could not afford to get outdone by Brooks…

What I really think happened is UK did not fire Cal but the big money boosters pulled monetary support back and forced his hand. Hence the NIL guarantee from Arky being mentioned in the deal.

WTF are you talking about?

Most in BBN wanted him gone, but our AD decided to retain him. No one up here is disappointed that he is leaving. And the only people the planet afraid of Arkansas are a handful of guys on a canoe trip.

And UK still had a top 3 class the past several years.

From what we hear, that's similar to why Muss moved on. Boosters cut back and forced his hand. Would be hard to hit the portal as hard when he has no money to offer.

But...that's all speculation and rumor. I have no inside sources.

I was joking. Cal has a history of fleeing programs who are in trouble.

I'm going to do something here I rarely do. Give Barnhart credit. He sort of forced this by telling Cal things were going to change in how the basketball dept was ran at UK. Knowing that Cal's ego could not handle that and he would leave. Saved us $33M and we get what the majority of the fanbase obviously wanted.

Barnhart played 4D chess, and didn't blink and ultimately won.

As I said previously, this works for Cal too. He gets chicken money and has a chance to salvage his legacy if he can get some March wins in Little Rock. Win/win for both teams. We win more though.

Doesn't seem there was much convincing needed. If anything it seems like tRant is trying to convince itself it isn't.

I think tRant is conflicted because it’s the best possible scenario for both Kentucky and Arkansas.

We downgraded by replacing a coach that has never been to a Final Four with a coach that's won a natty.

It makes a ton of sense if you don't think about it at all.
