Just kidding. He's a mediocre coach whose averaged a shade under 8 wins a year over the course of a pretty bland career. Strong recruiting classes or not, UT doesn't have the lure it once had and will never reclaim the status as elite again. Winning the East? How about shooting for the second consecutive Tax Slayer bowl title.

The most delusional offseason in the history of offseasons. Tennessee is done, it's over

What a doofus

I haven't posed this idea to my UT brethren, but I was thinking about pitching in to get some of you OM posters a premium subscription to a VOLS website since yall have proven to be very interested. I don't understand the obsession, but I'd like to do my part to help out.

He may not win the national title, but Butch Jones is the greatest coach in history to go 0-3 vs. Dooley and Muschamp. That can't be debated.

Let's say he goes 8-5,9-4,8-5 in the next 3 seasons. Seat would be hot, no?

Considering they've gone 35-40 over the past 6 seasons, they'd be complete suckers letting him go if he tallied that string of results. It's obviously a tough pill to swallow, but the peeps in Knoxville should know their place by now

No, this is a team not far removed from winning only one or two conference games a year like Bert. It he wins 8-9 games a year, he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

OM has gone 40-36 over that same time frame, with some of their best teams ever. Just saying

Ah, the old retarted "they will never return to glory" dream land that people that are fans of programs that lack a great history.

TN can make the playoff by winning a conference title.

I really don't give a shite. I made a thread flaming Hugh Freeze yesterday so it's not like I'm over here sipping the red and blue kool-aid. The noise coming out of Knoxville has been nothing short of comical. Jones needs to realize that Dobbs isn't a talent that of Tony Pike or Dan LeFevour. Those guys just ain't walking through the door

So, our worst stretch in 100 years (2008-2014) is still on par with Ole Poors best stretch in the last 60? Well, the two programs speak for themselves.

Lord, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for not allowing me to be born into a family full of poor, never have been Mississippi fans.

Your Grace is never ending.

Back in the 90's and early 2000's (when Tennessee was relevant) the SEC East really only had 3 good teams (Tenn,UGA,and Fla). Kentucky, Vandy, and USCjr (who could forget the '99 0-11 season) were terrible every year and it was only a 3 horse race in the East. Sure, the tandem of Lou Holtz and Syvelle Newton improved the cocks program by the mid 2000s, but by then Tennessee was already a has been. The point I am trying to make is Tennessee had a much easier road back then; all they had to do was beat either UF or UGA and they had a damn good chance of winning the east. Tennessee will never be up to the level they were in the 90's it over, and nobody cares anymore. Hell, most of the posters on here are damn near too young to remember the vols success me included. Butch Jones won't change any of that, in fact, I see him driving the program straight into the ground. I feel for you Vols.
