Dan Mullen had Mississippi State ranked #1 in the middle of the season.

Mississippi freaking State was ranked #1.

In football.

I want to see Mullen without Dak and see what he can do. I have to say though he has done a good job. Butch has improved every season, but cant seem to get the little things down.

Mullen in a landslide. He coaches circles around Lyle.

Mullen without question.

Without a doubt...sort of confused how anyone would even ask this question because it is so evident,

I am really shocked he hasn't taken a bigger job by now.

It comes down to personality and he is just a huge dick. So much so, that a current player told me he regrets signing with state and hates hearing about the "good old Gator days". Then a former player with a highly recruited son shocked the shite out of me when he told me he would prefer his son not go to State due to Dan.

No player says this. Former players recruit very hard for State, mostly using the point that Mullen is always honest with his players and rewards the hardest workers. They praise the development they received under
Mullen and you won't find a successful former player that has anything negative to say about him. You stupid piece of trash.

Mullen has been successful in a tough conference/division at a non-premier school. He was also brilliant at Florida (Granted he had Tebow and CUM).

I like Mullen, probably my favorite coach not at LSU.

Look before Dak, and see what he can/has done.

Dan Mullen is 2-29 against final AP ranked teams. Butch Jones is 3-20. This hypothetical scenario is similar to having to choose between developing either a brain tumor or AIDS.

He didn't do anything with Dak if you really want to crunch the numbers.

He did have a 10 win regular season. I hear that's hard to do....

By beating Southern Miss, UAB, South Alabama, three 8-5 conference foes, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee Martin, and Vandy. The best team in school history lead by the best player in school history just got obliterated by the Briarcrest girls basketball coach and 2* Bo Wallace.

Nonetheless, these are precious, precious, (just precious!) memories that will last a lifetime.

Sounds easy to do then, What years has Ole Miss won 10 games in a regular season?

You'll be able to have candlelight vigils while clips from 2014 play to Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World, and no matter how old you get - those (precious) memories will always resurface.

It'll be really special

It actually was pretty special. Though we lost to Ole Miss, we still accomplished the following:

A 10 win season

Spent 5 weeks as the AP #1 team in the country.

The First team to be ranked #1 in the College Football Playoffs Poll.

Kind of like going to the Vaught and seeing that banner for the 2003 Western Division championship?

At least om doesn't have to worry about the NCAA taking that one away.

And in hindsight, you got slaughtered by adequate competition. I can tell it means a lot to you though. That is just precious. People come and go, but memories -- memories will suffice for a lifetime.

Never forget that

The NCAA is a spineless bunch. We'll take the 9 over 3 and continue to drive you simple country folk further and further towards insanity.

I think we have different definitions of slaughtered. When I think of slaughtered, the 2014 Peach Bowl comes to mind.
