I mean sure but 1 coach had way more talent to work with than the other.

Wrong again.

Butch has stated multiple times he likes to play call with a 60/40 run to pass ratio. That may change this year with the talent at WR.

Yet another bad attempt trying to use Butches 2013 class as a comparison in the discussion when he didn't take over until a month and a half until NSD.

Nice abortion of a thread though

The very first play of the Jones Era was a running play - Rajion Neal breaking away and picking up a huge gain. I remember this because after seeing Doofus pass every single down and our RBs not be able to pick up a yard against Austin-East High School it made me smile. Our running game wasn't great last year (Neal only got 1000 yds since our oline was never good at run blocking only pass blocking) but it was about a zillion times better than it had been under Dooley.

We run far more than we pass. This year, we will be sorely tempted by the WRs and TEs we have if our oline can pass block worth a damn which is by no means a given but it still won't be the pass-happy offense Dooley/Chaney/Bray ran.

Did you not detect the sarcasm about Neal and his 1000 yds? I thought it was obvious since we were being accused of being pass-happy. As to our WRs/TEs this year being a temptation in terms of changing the ratio of pass to run plays I'm being dead serious. If our oline can pass block it will be a shame not to utilize them - that position has gone from godawful last year due to zero experience and not much to smile about beyond North (who was learning on the job since he'd never played WR before) to a position of strength this year. The skill positions have been upgraded immensely.

Wow! I got chills because of how crazy all those similarities are.

I bet if you let your detective skills go deeper you'll discover they both drive automobiles, like puppies, and have assistant coaches.

He also beat James Franklin, who beat Dooley that year, in a bowl game. What's your point?

Actually, that is embarrassing. Losing to any 4-8 team is bad.

Anyone who watched that game knows no one clowned anyone that game. The players from both teams, however, clowned themselves in the most glorious display of awfulness known to SEC football in the modern era. It was like a game of hot potato between them - loser scores the most points.
