Well the regular season is over and we all had hopes of grandeur which were mostly dashed for everyone not named Georgia, so let's hear it.

I originally said 6-6 but then changed my prognostication to 7-5 right before the season, so I was close on my guess. One thing I had no idea of was Anthony Richardson's absolute ignorance of how to play the QB position and the game of football in general. Another hope I had was for the defense to improve from last season, which it did not. Going forward from season 1 of Billy Napier I have hope we will improve, but I ain't betting on it. I am thankful that we got to play Utah, A&M, and Carolina at the right time of the season, but seemed to play Vandy and Kentucky at the wrong time.

I was happy that it is basketball season until last night. When does swimming season start?

Had the talent to win 10 games. Couldn’t stay healthy for shite and it cost us numerous times throughout the year. Extremely wasted season that will now lead to extensive overhauls of our staff and roster. Good times.

I'll assess LSU instead of ours.

LSU Assessment: yugely overrated.

(LSU):Overachieved by quite a long shot. The QB is a playmaker but I’m still not sure that he can sling it when needed to. Defense looked great and honestly held the team together when it could’ve gone real south. DBs played a lot better than I thought. Wasted a lot of talent at WR. Despite all of this, I think the future is bright. I think next year’s SEC is a lot more wide open than usual since Bennett is gone and UGA needs to break in a new QB.

Woof. Offense is bad. Defense is talented, but often outschemed.

Jimbo has zero creativity in game planning. Everything 100% vanilla, and rely on players to execute everything perfectly to outplay opponants. Recipe for failure with a team of inexperienced underclassmen.

O-line was unforgivably bad all season. Changes have to be coming, players and coaching both.

Some bright spots emerged over the course of a very rough season. Weigman, Stewart, Moose, Turner, Overton, Daniels towards the end of the year. Good young talent group defintiely emerged. Will be very dangerous if they stay together a few more years.

Overall, horrible, very bad, God awful season.

... still better than Arky and LSU though.

Did you see the preseason SEC West predictions? You clearly underachieved all season long w/ that talent. Jimbo gonna Jimbo.

We need to get a new secondary coach and to hit the portal HARD for some DBs.

We need more depth in several spots and it showed at times.

Overall, hard to complain about it based on expectations and where we've been.

While the way it ended was weird, overall Ole Miss replaced their QB, every RB, 2 OL, every WR but 1, almost every DL, and every LB. Lane was able to effectively use the portal to fill holes so Ole Miss was able to reload more than rebuild. A lot of young talent on this team so if Lane can fill some more holes with the portal and develop the young players, Ole Miss can have another 9/10 win season next year.

One thing Lane and Ole Miss has to figure out is redzone offense. We have been bad the last 2 years in that regard and it is costing the team games.

The more it drags on the more it's looking like we're going to flop another coaching search.

Texas had the lead going into the 4th quarter in every game.. but one (TCU, down 7)

Sark has to figure out a way to close out the games, and he made progress this year, which is good news.

If Ewers gets the sophomore bump as most talented players do, could make a run at 10+ wins next year. He struggled big time in some games this year, but flashed at times as well. Tons of potential if he will put in the work. I’m hoping that Arch coming in January will motivate him to get it done.

OL: Lots of underclassman played this year.. should get better and become a huge plus in the next 2-3 years.

Overall: We are in a much better place than we have been in a long time. Now it’s time to take the next step. Big 12 favorite going into the year maybe? Either way, we are getting closer to where we need to be for SEC play.

SEC Sports Preseason

Excellent overall. Very low expectations preseason. 39 scholarship players in the last bowl game. Playing this season with about 10 empty scholarships. This lack of depth will hurt special teams as well as increase the affect of injuries.

Offense - This is where BK is going to have to prove his worth. Either Daniels is going to learn to sling it, or he will be replaced. LSU fans have PTSD from Miles/O. BK (I think) will make appropriate changes and be improved next year.

Defense - Had a very good season considering your best defensive lineman was lost for the season in game 1. And the defensive backfield was put together with duct tape. In need of a major talent infusion this offseason.

Special Teams....Polian needs to have this title removed from him. Period. If he is let go, Frank Wilson can more than fill in or the Recruiting Coordinator role.

While I fully expect LSU to be an improved team next season, I also expect nest season to have some inconsistency. Mainly due to the large number of recruits and transfers needed to finally fill out the roster to 85.

Great rushing game with a decent but streaky passing game
Up and down defense, and boy were the downs waaaaaay down there
Good kicker and a dog poo poo punter
Overall a good season, especially if we can close with a bowl win
But it sure stings to lose 4/5 to close the year, including the Egg
