it's just I don't think properly done brisket is as good as properly done beef ribs. The payoff is not worth the time and money. I think the best thing you can do with a brisket is turn it into pastrami and put it on rye bread

Pretty much.

I mean, it can be good, but people rave about it like it's some kind of haute cuisine. Wow, they made a tough cut tender by cooking it low and slow. Surprise, you can do that with chuck as well.

Give me a well prepared prime rib over a brisket every single time.

Yes. You think brisket is more expensive than prime rib? Chuck ain't exactly cheap these days either.

Brisket is certainly good but it just tastes like a roast beef to me.

Then you’ve only had shitty brisket.

Beef ribs are by far the best bbq there is.

True. It's too easy to cook it poorly

This. You can doctor pork up with sauce, but brisket is either good or bad. There’s zero in between.

Exactly this. Pretty much anyone can do decent pulled pork. Hell, I could throw a loin into our instant pot and in about an hour have everyone raving about how good it is.

Making edible brisket requires opening up the Grimoire for dark arts spells and a dash of luck as well. That's why Texas brisket masters are revered..and able to charge a small ransom for a plate of smoked meats.

lol, this just tells me that people in Texas don't know how to do pulled pork properly, so they think brisket is the shite

Beef ribs are absolutely sublime but there's nothing like perfectly ... and I mean perfectly ... done brisket.

I'll also cast a vote for smoked turkey.

And I'll commit heresy among my Alabama brethren and say that Miss Myra's in Cahaba Heights has better smoked chicken, and white sauce, than Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur.

Unfortunately, a lot of truth to this. I've screwed up my fair share of them.

Not true. A little BBQ place on Harvey Rd. @ Texas Hwy 30 fixes authentic pulled pork with sauce that's as good as any in the Carolinas
