Gus knows he'd get owned by any defense with a pulse if the rule was enforced the way it should be or if they changed the rule to 1 yard.
So this is what it means to advocate against a rule change?
What does it mean when you advocate for a rule change?

Cry about the rules and try to change them. Awesome! The Nick Saban and Bret Bielema way.

The blindingly pro-Rebal side of me is happy with Hugh Freeze's "victory."
The objective side of me thinks this is a stupid rule and wishes we ran a more ball control offense.

I can't look at the link atm. Can someone give the context?

I mean, as long as it's enforced it's not a big deal
I'm just not sure I trust refs (especially SEC refs) to enforce it any more than they already are

Gus/Freeze teabagged Saban/Bert.

I have always wondered what bama's O's would look like if the "pick plays" were enforced by the letter of the law.

Wrong, Gus used those plays very little with Marshall last year. With JJ as the QB, you will not see it at all. The two times where Marshall pulled up on a read option to make a pass, were against A&M and Bama two years ago. What Gus did not want was for the Officials to dictate play calling, base on how they percieved a rule.
