There was apparently nothing illegal about trying to place the bet. But then Neff got really stupid: obstructing a federal investigation, destroying evidence, tampering with witnesses, providing false statements to the FBI.
That's a whole lot of stupid right there.

I am not sure who is the bigger idiot in all of this. Bohannon doing this on a messaging app (that has audio calling capabilities as well) when he knows it’s an obvious no go area or his buddy to hat couldn’t keep his mouth shut at the sports book and then showed those messages to the employee…
Dude, just make the call and provide the tip and then there is no real evidence of Bohannon ever giving the tip. Worst case it shows he received a call from Bohannon and made a bet, and Bohannon has plenty of plausible deniability in all of this…

Holman is in line to be a weekend starter, possibly the Fri. nite starter & has been interviewed several times. Surprised this hasn't been brought up in some form or another.
