It's really as simple as Bama beating Auburn on Wednesday. A loss at a top 70 Ole Miss is far from a bad loss and a loss in the first round of the SEC tourney leaves us at 20-11 with a mid 30s RPI. A split this week will keep Bama as a 10 seed going in to the SEC tournament so 1 additional loss isn't going to make or break us.

I think MSU would be in for sure if they win their next two and one in the SECt. Whether or not they will do that is another issue

This year you probably do get in at 8-8. You have 3 top 50 wins, a lot of bubble teams don't.

I would love to be a 12 seed. That would be the best possible position for this team to be in other than 1-6 of course. 2 wins is more possible at the 12 seed, than being a 7-10. You see more 12/5 seed upsets than any other matchup.

You probably do. The bubble is really weak this year and your resume isn't horrible outside of the losses to UGA and Auburn.

If State got in I wouldn't be shocked by them winning a game or two. If they get in it means they would have at least stopped melting down somewhat and they do have talent.
It would also be an epic Stans moment, and the reaction of State fans on here would be great to watch.

The danger with a 12 seed now is that you could get stuck playing in one of the extra play-in games. State definately has the talent to make some noise. It's pathetic they way they've been playing. They look like us towards the end of the Gottfried years.

I can see it happening. He has lasted 14 years for a reason.
If he did win a couple of games in the NCAAs it would be the least celebrated Sweet 16 in history though.
