I guess the excitement is just due to something new? Other than that I don't get it with LSU fans. From my perspective, it's like they've got a dead battery on their car and one tire that maybe has a slow leak (maybe). Instead of changing the battery they opt for new tires. It's still not gonna get you anywhere.

That still manages to beat your tailspinning program year in and year out

Let me retract my previous statement. If we get Pendergrass, it is a grand slam, not a home run. It certainly appears it's headed in that direction....throw in O to replace Haley and I don't know a term for greater than a grand slam, but that would be it if there was one.

Get worse at 2 positions and call it a grand slam.

LSU fans just make themselves look dumb by starting these threads. The majority of LSU poster liked Chavis when he was your defensive coordinator, and you initially laughed at the Aggies for thinking they could get him

Chavis is not elite against power offenses
Yet he kept the best offense in the Saban era to 20 points? LOL

Chavis is as elite as it comes in terms of being a DC regardless of offensive scheme

TxAM fans MUST be asking themselves why LSU wasn't willing to match their offer...with the 5th richest program in the country...

yall want and needed a change which is understandable given the last game.it's a big gamble though considering the major need for offesive development. The Ags really had nothing to lose, our defenses have been abysmall since the R.C/Bob Davie/Tubberville days.

Watch LSU win the NC next year. We could hire Jesus and still suck, but LSU hires drunkass elvis and wins it all....again.

People who think Pendergrass is a home run are also idiots. His defense at USC gave up 50 points to UCLA last year. Probably why he is still unemployed

The offenses nability to score a touchdown inside the 5 yard line lost this game

Was this before or after the 15 yard penalty for "pushing"

Chavis LOST the Bama games both times.....WE HAD THE LEAD in 2012.......it had nothing to do with a wildcat 4th and 1 or anything else.

WE HAD THE LEAD in 2014........it had nothing to do with the offense that time either.

WE HAD THE LEAD in 2013 against Clemson.

WE HAD THE LEAD in 2013 against Georgia.

WE WERE TIED with ND in 2014.

WE WERE TIED with Ole Miss in 2013.

Quite making excuses for his flaws..........He hasn't proven to be the best at the end of halves, and 3rd and long.

He'd have lost the game against UF too after we go the lead this year if not for a drop TD pass in the endzone.

Maybe this inability to stop people was a result off the past and we(LSU) couldn't overcome his failures.

But to sit hear and paint Chavis as perfect and dominant is absolute BS.

I respected Chavis ability to control the game on D for the most part, but I never trusted him with the game on the line or a "big" situation.

I have a feeling it will be tougher for Chavis with Texas A & M offense.

This feeling is based on a perception that Texas A&M offense although innovative is not ball control (haven't looked at time of possession so I could be as full of shite as the rest of you). Don't get me wrong the O is light years ahead of LSU. Just curious if Chavis will have a fall off with not benefiting from ball control.

Not saying he won't be good. Just think it will be interesting.

ND was a 11 for 17 on 3rd down.

Yes, but God must be an LSU fan. Seriously. They will pull something out of their coon asses and win it all again. It's grossly unfair and I am more arse hurt than I was after that all-night sodomy party I went to during thanksgiving.

Thank you. I'm not saying he couldn't be good, I'm just saying that LSU fans are acting like he is a grand slam / home run / sure thing, and that is idiotic. They are basically acting like the administration let Chavis go so they could pull the trigger on an unemployed DC. Like somehow anyone would want this guy without a job over John Chavis.

He is clearly elite. Huge get for A&M. Sumlin and the A&M brass are ecstatic and they should be. When u get a coordinator like Chavis from a rival... Also Chavis had Sumlin's number. Cant beat em join em.

He won't be averaging 15 ppg, but we don't need him to. Give us a top 30 D and we win 10+ games every single year without trying.

So because you have the lead your offense can't try to score more points and get a bigger lead?

Got it.

Ypu will never convince anyone that Chavis lost you all those games when the rest of the football world understands that the only reason your fans think that is true is because they've never actually seen how a real offense works. All the pressure was on the defense, so understandably you blame him.

Bama and ND it feels like he lost those games this year fair or not. We need 1 last stop and didn't get it. That said I understand that it is unfair to say great overall game but you failed bc the last drive scored.
