Wonder if Bert had his bib, napkins and diapers on. I sure to bet Jeff Long was there to spoon feed him his processed Gerber.
This is a joke, like Jeff Long and Bert. If you can not beat them fair and square lets change the rules and still get the crap beat out of us. Losers gonna lose, winners gonna win and whiners gonna whine.

I don't like it either. I think it will have virtually no impact in the big picture, but will inevitably result in a few weird situations with the officials trying to enforce it.
I wish they would do a better job of enforcing the current rule of allowing the defense time to sub if the offense subs. Also doing a better job of requiring that the offensive formation be set for a full one second would help as well.
Just better enforcement of the current rules would be what I would focus on.

Bert is doing this for survival, Saban is doing it for pride. He'll continue to win at high levels, but why risk a fade if you can go out on top with a little help from your friends?

What has Saban said publicly about this since the Iron Bowl? The only comments I remember were stated before Gus ever coached a game at Auburn.

Admittedly, Saban was lying about HUNH offenses before this season. It isn't determinative for his success, but if it helps, of course he'll take it.
Still a horribly stupid and bitch rule.

Saban was bitching about this after we won a national championship
yea I remember and it still doesn't change my line of thinking
Saban is a bad arse who seems to have the "no excuses" mentality, yet he continues to bitch and moan about this rule
it's weird
I mean gimme a break with all the "player safety" shite

You can't convince them of anything other than the fact that Saban is cowering in a corner thinking of the mighty awwwburn machine...

You don't win football games because you snap the ball faster. This board is going full retard.

I wonder if Malzahn's insistence on injuring student athletes with the HUNH is going to hurt him on the recruiting trail?
First full class was Top 10...don't think so.

I do wish the media would not single out two caoches and instead give out everyone that was in the meetings and who is a voting memeber.

It's the XBOX/pussified generation that loves that type of football.

There are so many saban rules out there, it's nice to see him get in on the fun iyam.

Funny how no one had a problem when the coaches all lobbied the NCAA to change recruiting rules to slow down Saban.
It is kinda sorta ironical, ain't it?

I don't think the NCAA should legislate this issue at all tbh. The people who want it done away with are the people that cheer for teams that either have issues stopping up tempo offenses or dislike new brands of football and want people to go back to smash mouth play styles.
I like the HUNH because when you combine it with misdirection you add a more cerebral part of the game that forces defenses to be very disciplined and know their assignments, and to be well conditioned on top of it. It's just a different style of football, and it doesn't present an advantage to the user of the tempo that is unfair. Every luxury that is afforded the offense is also afforded the defense. They have the same time to get set and get the same substitutions the offense does. There is also no real, hard evidence that these fast paced offenses lead to more injuries, which is pretty important if you are arguing for player safety I'd say.
It'd be pretty lame if this rule passes. Adaptation of offenses and defenses has been around since football started, and defenses will adapt to this new philosophy as well. Hell, LSU has laid out a damn good blue print for it already with their perimeter speed.
I would type more and make this post flow better but I am at work and on a phone.

it's like 1970 USSR...
seriously though... there is an NCAA committee that has to approve these rules changes... i spent 20 minutes on my lunch break trying to find the members' names.... came up with nothing.
