How is a returned FG for a TD luck?

Plus they might have still beaten Bama had they not gotten that. It wasn't like they were playing from behind.

You can't deny that the ball didn't metaphorically bounce your way a LOT last year. Kudos to y'all though, it takes talent and good coaching to capitalize on those situations
Against Georgia, sure. Against everyone else, no, not really... Like I've said before, Gus Malzahn, while on staff at Auburn, is 24-4 in close games. He finds ways to win close games.

I'm still trying to figure out why SECRanters claim that was luck.

Did they not notice what was going on? Before the timeout, Ryan Smith was back deep for Auburn. Gus Malzahn noticed the personnel on Alabama's side, called a timeout, and placed Chris Davis back there. He didn't take the timeout to freeze the kicker. He knew he had the competitive advantage, and Nick Saban didn't adjust to his adjustment.

Offense:

Two 1,000 yard rushers between Jonathan Williams, Alex Collins or Korliss Marshall

Defense:

Trey Flowers leads the SEC in sacks.

Bold Predictions for your team in 2014
Nick Marshall finishes as a top 3 passer in the SEC, and Duke Williams and Sammie Coates proceed to frick shite up. Cam Artis-Payne, Corey Grant, Peyton Barber, Racean Thomas and Nick Marshall open up chaos on the ground just like 2013, only with less yards because of the improvement in the passing game. Auburn's defense improves at least 20 spots in points per game allowed.

Anytime you have a 100+ yard play to END REGULATION it's luck.

How many FGs have you seen returned for a TD in college? That's the only one I can remember. It's luck and y'all are as delusional as tFlagshippers if you think otherwise.

It's no more lucky than a punt return/kickoff return for a TD.

Most teams aren't stupid enough to try a 57 yard FG.

2013 - 24.7 PPG - #47 nationally

That would put Auburn at #27, at minimum, which was Notre Dame at 22.4 PPG.

Well FWIW LSU did it like 3 weeks before that. Albeit it was against some bullshite team and they were already up by an ungodly amount, but it did happen.

That being said, Auburn fans are delusional if they don't think they got a shite ton of breaks last year.

It wasn't luck, bro.

Was it different? Unorthodox? Uncoventional? Yes, but it was not luck.

Let me define luck for you: "the accidental way things happen without being planned." Gus Malzahn planned on returning that field goal, which is why he put Chris Davis back there. There was nothing accidental about it.

So the Hail Mary to beat UGA wasn't luck because it was the playcall? Is that what you're saying too?

That's what your logic is implying.

I bet you think the LSU Fake FG "bounce" against Florida was all skill too.
