They both play in glorified high school stadiums. They are both out recruited annually by their conference opponents. They have had no real national success, I mean neither has won the SEC since JFK was President. They are not top 20 jobs.

I was unaware we had 20 SEC members outrecruit us.

Is it possible that there is someone on this site dumber than the OP?

Your recruiting class is just about always in the bottom half of the SEC

True but their program is dormant, it's kind of like it's incased in permafrost.

Robot, you have a lot to learn about college football. I remember the days when I was just like you.

The right coach would win big at Nebraska. It is on par with Ohio State and Michigan in the big ten. Folks were saying the Bama job wasn't a top job after they fired Mike Shula.

Yeah, well, I've lived in a place where there was snow on the ground from mid-October until April. Don't be so sure.

These coaches will go anywhere if the money is right, it's a job that pays a ton of money and they can retire any place they want to.

Traditionally....yes. But football has changed and Nebraska would have to recruit primarily outside of NE and it's surrounding states. Pelini had them winning 9 games a year and that's very likely where they'll be for a while.

People have this ideological dream that their coach grew up a bigger fan of their school than they did.

Coaches are mercenaries. They're up for the highest bidder. It is what it is....

yeah...I do believe that it would take a lot for Freeze to leave Ole Miss because he did grow up a big fan of the school. But I'm not ignorant to the fact that every man has his dollar amount.

Guess I underestimated their base, but still not much to build a title program around. I'd still take Miss. Plus I like Oxford. The northern great plains are brutal, other than for an occasional pheasant hunt.

How does it feel that a little ole MS school matched your best year ever just two years after?

I can get some of the gripes as but Miami? Mississippi State will never be a better job than Miami. That's beyond delusional.
