We haven't had a decent OOC opponent come to Autzen in what seems forever.

FWIW I'd love for us to do a home-and-home sometime although logistically it would never happen.

Really, in a nut shell, if you want some info, I can tell you that I completely expect Tennessee to suck something awful this year. I want them to win this game, but they won't.

They do have the best OL in the SEC, there is very little doubt about that and I think anybody who disputes it is just being a homer.

With that said, they may have the worst collection of skill players in the league. Their QB will be a first year starter. Either a JR who I've never been overly impressed with or a FR. Raijon Neal and Marlin Lane are pretty average at RB for BCS level football, but is the highlight of their skill guys. They look better than they are thanks to the OL. I'd like to tell you more about their WRs, but I can't name any of them besides Croom and North who I know are talented. They are a RSFR and True FR respectively.

Defensively, oh, what a cluster fack. They traditionally ran a 4-3 under Chavis. Stuck with the 4-3 until last year when they converted to a 3-4. They recruited for that personnel for at least part of the year and year before (they badly needed the personnel, they didn't have it for that type D), but now they've cleaned house and will return to a 4-3. I don't really know where that leaves McCullers, but they'll have an above average DL with Smith, McCullers, Couch, Walls, and Miller if they can all fit in the scheme.

My favorite player on their team is LB AJ Johnson, he is the real deal. Might even line up in some wildcat as QB. Outside of that, every other player and unit on their D is just kind of meh.

They have the talent in the trenches to keep some games close and to get the big Urnge back to a bowl game. You turn the ball over a time or 3 and you'll give them a shot, but I don't see Oregon doing that with an experienced QB and no real game breakers of note in the UT back 7 outside of AJ Johnson. Watch out if something goes awry early and you're down by two scores. I know Oregon has a high-powered offense, but I still wouldn't be comfortable with that OL that UT will trot out there.

Well, to be fair, when you have Hunter, Patterson, Z. Rogers, and Rivera out wide it is tough for any young guy to come in and make a name for himself.

The fact that we redshirted three 4* wideouts is proof of that.

It's an unknown but it was easily the position Dooley recruited best. A lot of highly rated young guys.

Absolutely. I wouldn't dispute the fact that you have some talented guys out there, it just so happens that it's the biggest unknown on your team with the mass amount of talented departures.

I always pull for the SEC in OOC games, especially in ones that would be major upsets.

Hell yes, I hope you throttle Miami this year. The FSU game is a little different for me this year than usual since I have a tenuous personal attachment to the FSU football program now.

Tennesse has a strong OL but their consistency has always been a problem. Theyre soft. Tough DLs can mow them down. Like Florida and Bama last year.

They are decent in the front 7 but the speed and talent in their secondary is laughably lacking. Mariotta should be able to pick them apart.

The skill positions will prob be fine but none of their qbs are probably going to be ready for oregon.

I will be interested to see our DL vs. UT. Chip put an emphasis there and it will be a unit of strength.

De'Anthony Thomas might set a record for individual all-purpose yards in this game. I can't think of a player/scheme that UT is less equipped to handle. They are lacking in defensive speed across the board. McCullers is a good player but a bad scheme fit. AJ Johnson is a great player, but he's more of a thumper. This won't be his type of game.

UT's OL is legit though. The problem is they won't be able to score with Oregon and will probably have to abandon what should be a pretty good running game.
