I get that impression from honest fans. Some are thinking McCullers and the Oline will tear us a new one.
I am still wondering how McCullers will do in a 4-3 scheme.

At this point in their respective programs history Tennessee keeping within 10 points would be a moral victory - esp since the game is at Oregon

No Tennessee fan irl believes Tennessee will win or even keep it close.
It will be an absolute bloodbath. I would put it 12th on the schedule in terms of ranking winnable games.

Tennessee has zero chance of beating Oregon in Autzen. We do have a good o-line, but we don't have any proven skill players. And although our defense will surely be better than it was last year, that's the equivalent of saying your new girlfriend is hotter than your last one......if your last one was Roseanne Barr.
I'm excited about the job Butch Jones is doing, and I think Tennessee will be nationally relevant again in 2-3 years. But the reality of this team is that it's the dumpster fire that Derek Dooley left us with. We just don't have the horses to beat Oregon.

Did Dooley not coach or something? I guess sometimes recruiting classes don't equate to success.

Dooley didn't do anything right. His recruiting was subpar. He was incompetent as a coach. The players didn't like or respect him.
Basically, think of every positive attribute you could want in a coach. Dooley had none of those.

Read this article about Dooley, which comes from rockytoptalk.com, which is both the most widely read UT blog and one known for its even-handedness.

Dude Tennessee fans are very, very delusional every year before the season starts. I mean you should have heard the noise from them before last year's UF vs Tenn game. We apparently had ZERO chance of beating Tennessee. It will fade away fast when Oregon wins by 30-40 points I promise.
Let me repeat what I said to your piece of shite arse earlier:
frick
YOU
As for this Oregon guy, no UT fan who is serious thinks we will beat y'all and just bc a few trolls invade your POS board is no reason for you to get upset about it.
ETA: actually i apologize to bisonduck i assumed you were trolling and after reading this thread I see you were legitimately curious, I jumped to conclusions and hope we can continue respectful debate until game time comes

Not a very good coach when your big victory at the schools is beating Cinci coached by Butch Jones.

In the past decade we had Wisconsin, Michigan and OU come to Autzen but the last decent OOC was OU in '06. It's really been the Houston, Fresno State, etc. types of games.
Was that the game where PAC 12 officials fricked OU?

When was the last time Tennessee beat a team from west of the Mississippi?
Montana in 2011.

Yes. Technically knocked them out of the national title race (they would've been 12-1 just like us before the bowls).

(FWIW, I'd LMAO if Tennessee goes to Autzen and wins.)

With holes all over the depth chart, this is NOT the time we want to play a top 5 OOC team. And I'm not looking forward to seeing UT play at Oklahoma next year either. At full strength I wouldn't mind playing anyone in the country.
Did Mike Hamilton schedule these games? In his defense schedules are set up in advance and he didn't know UT was going to be this bad. But he still should have went with the Florida approach and only scheduled cupcake OOC games.
