2005 LSU Rally in Death Valley. LSU blows a 21 point second half lead to their ex QB Rick Clausen in the aftermath of a devastating hurricane.

The K-State game in '98 was definitely it. Add to the fact that they got the score update that Miami had defeated UCLA during the game and they also completed a Hail Mary on the last play of regulation that was tackled at the one yard line. That game was crazy.

Lolz ol zooker lost to the shite teams but brought the ruckus against the big boys

Zooker was wild card while muschamp was a str8 up dud

I don't know if they were heartbreaking....but LSU kneeling the ball 4 times on the 5 yard line with 5 minutes left against ole miss had to be pretty embarrassing.

'01 SECCG, and the Duke victory in the '06 tournament.
For VCU, I would say beating #1 seed Kansas in the Elite Eight.

A few candidates:
-2012 SEC championship: literally pried an SEC and Nat championship out of Georgia's death grip.
-2012 National championship: Notre Dame had convinced themselves that win or lose, they were a legitimately competitive team who had "arrived." Bama shut that narrative down with authority.
-2011 National Championship: you know
-2012 Bama vs LSU: screen pass...
-2009 Florida: Tebow's tears tell you all you need to know. The end of an era for Florida.

Well every single team has had their heart broken at one point or another, so misery loves company I guess. I still haven't rewatched the 2013 Iron Bowl since I threw my TV remote through the wall on that terrible afternoon. The 2010 Iron Bowl wasn't as bad to me, since we weren't really in contention for anything other than a better bowl game.

2009 vs Georgia tech.

They had their best team in 20 years, we were mediocre at best. They beat us in 08 and proceeded to tell us for a year that they were now 'the' team in Georgia.

Their star reciever drops a WIDE open 4th down pass at home to end the game.

30-24. By far sweetest win over them we've had. And there are a lot to choose from

I think you'd have to go back to our pre-SEC days to find one better than 4th and 25, because Ole Miss would have most certainly beaten a rudderless Florida in a rematch in the SEC-CG to win their first ever and long overdue conference title. But honestly, 2007 LSU should have been the most heartbreaking, had they not somehow lucked into the NCG and unprecedentedly became the first and only two-loss national champions in history.

Also, 1998 Tennessee would have been a hell of a heartbreaker, but luck wasn't on our side that year.

The screen pass is worse to me than the Natty, just wanting revenge and having it pried out was pretty tragic.

LSU wins the Natty that year if not for Chavis going check his cholesterol with 1:20 left against them.

Auburn fans make much more out of 28-27 than it is. Oh, it hurt, don't get me wrong, but we were already out of contention for everything that year so the pain was a passing thing. Not even in the same galaxy as the Kick Six.

For us it has to be 2012 LSU for the reasons mentioned above.
