Aundray Bruce

Bruce was drafted with the first overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.[2] Although he was the first overall pick, Bruce started only 42 games in his 11-year career. Bruce enjoyed his most prominent role on the Falcons 1991 playoff team when he saw spot duty on offense as a tight end as well as defense. He signed with the Los Angeles Raiders as a free agent in 1992 and finished his career with the organization. Bruce played in 151 games over his 11-season career, posting 32 sacks and 4 interceptions.

I shot photos at a charity golf tournament a few years back, many Bama and Auburn players involved. I actually rode around in Aundray Bruce's cart for a few holes, super nice guy. Very funny and congenial even though he knew I was a big Bama fan. I liked the guy.

Aundray Bruce was the #1 overall pick.

I guess he was not a total bust, however, expectations for first overll pick should be very high like NFL HOF.

He played several seasons, but certainly not a HOF career.

Anyone remember when Aundray pulled a gun/robbed the pizza delivery guy at his own house. Not sure how he thought he would get away with that one.

James Manley.

Or possibly Fred Vinson, mostly because of injury. But a bust is a bust.

I would say Batman Carroll over Matt Jones or Jamaal Anderson. Batman Carroll didn't produce much for being a 1st round pick. At least Anderson and Jones played for multiple seasons. Batman is most known for getting burned by Greg Lewis for 3 touchdowns against the Eagles. Jones and Anderson at least made some top 10 highlights.
