I hardly consider a career being ended by injury as bust worthy, BTW.
If they weren't good enough, weren't smart enough, were proven to be too much of a fricking idiot off the field (drugs, murders, etc) or anything like that, sure... Bust worthy.

Haddix managed 8 seasons
He had over 1k less yards than Bo in over twice the amount of time.
He’s the only player in NFL history with eight seasons averaging 3.5 yards per carry or less (based on a minimum
of 40 carries). He did it all eight of his NFL seasons.
After rushing for a career-high 76 yards and a score in his NFL debut, Haddix never topped 60 yards again as an Eagle. He ran for fewer than 280 yards in each of his six years in Philly and holds the distinction of having the fewest career yards per rush (3.0) of any player in NFL history with at least 500 carries.
He was the #8 pick in the draft.
quote:So you think Steve Young is a bust then too?
zero with the team that drafted him #1 overall

Bo knows.

Bo Jackson wasn't horrible for the Raiders, particularly as a 7th round pick.
Bo Jackson WAS a horrible horrible horrible bust for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the #1 overall pick.
That's the premise.
Injuries factor into busts though, like Sam Bowie.

Do busts get ESPN 30 for 30s made about them?

They made a 30 for 30 about Todd Marinovich..

Yeah. My bad on that. Completely missed the SEC part of your question. In my defense, I was preoccupied with your obvious troll

I read this whole amazing thread and I could almost hear that simultaneous arse clench all the way from Opalkaki.

I like where you're going with this.

I think Bo was a much better football player than baseball player.
I can ride shotgun on the "Bo is overrated as an MLBer" bandwagon. But I can't ride the "Bo is a RB bust" trollbus

If we lose to Auburn, I'll just go get a couple thousand tardville posters to come over here and join in the Gus Love-In.

Greatest Athlete of all time and a Pro Bowl player is not a bust. LINK-ESPN
"SportsCenter" and ESPN Sport Science teamed up to determine the greatest athlete of all time, using their unique metric that factors in attributes such as speed, power, reaction time and more. Your votes determined the athlete who would represent each sport in the bracket phase of the project and then Sport Science host John Brenkus delivered the results of each matchup, culminating in Bo Jackson overcoming Jim Brown to earn greatest athlete of all time honors.
It's hard to argue with John Brenkus and Sport Science naming Bo Jackson the greatest athlete of all time. Can you imagine another player ever earning MLB All-Star and NFL Pro Bowl honors in back-to-back years.

I'm just curious here... not to comment on the fact that Bo Jackson's one truly outstanding talent is marketing... but how many championships did he win in college in the pro's or gold medals in the olympics?

Someone's rustled. This is almost as sweet as a response thread.
