It's pretty clear that Jamarcus Russell is easily the biggest first round bust of all time at QB.

What's not so obvious is that there's a running back from the SEC who was potentially an EVEN BIGGER NFL bust for the team that drafted him.

Who is that you might ask?

Bo Jackson.

He was drafted #1 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1986. He refused to play for the team and was later drafted by the Raiders in the 7th round.

As the #1 overall pick he recorded no stats at all for Tampa Bay. Perhaps he was better only in that he didn't cost them a salary either.

He finished up his NFL run with only 2,782 yards.

Compare this to recent SEC 1st round running back "busts" who are still active.

Darren Mcfadden, 3,713 yards. (4th overall)
Felix Jones, 2,912 yards. (22nd overall)
Trent Richardson, 1,513 yards. (3rd overall)
Mark Ingram, 1,462 yards. (28th overall)

So you're saying that Bo Jackson was a solid #1 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Bucs?

No

He told them not to draft him because he'd play baseball. They fricked him over in college baseball and they knew he wouldn't be a Buc

Trying to derail the thread with bad comics doesn't change the reality of the situation.

So, can you find a bigger running back bust from the SEC?

Or are you just pissy that Bo Jackson is perhaps the most overrated running back of all time?
