I'm aware, but just the original tune was in response to A&Ms. The lyrics were added later by a band director. UTs true rival is OU and they didn't play their seasons to beat A&M when the game was still intact.

OU and Texas care about their "rivalry" exactly one day a year.

There's no culture clash between the fan bases. They don't live and work among each other or spend holidays bantering. There are pockets of Sooners in Texas, but their numbers are too small to generate much cultural or societal influence. The Sooners are largely irrelevant in this state except for that weekend in October, at which point most Texas fans pretend to forget they've never even met a Sooner.

The red river "rivalry" remains the most artificial, overhyped event in college sports.

Well, as a Bama fan, I would say Auburn has done all right.
They may be the minority in their state, but Auburn, for the
most part, goes stroke for stroke with Alabama. Auburn won a National Championship in the midst of their rivals greatest
run in decades, possibly ever. I hate lil bro Auburn, but give lil bro his due.

The deal is that A&M students could have gone to Texas. Texas is full of douche bags. They are ok to party with but football. They are just the rich kid with the porshe in highschool. nobody was jealous because he was such a douchbag.

Also Texas quotes long history. They won some shite in the 60s and one with VY.

A&M was a military college all male and had a team similar to Army. Texas loves to count those.

But in most of our lifetimes if you are about 35-45 the series is almost dead even.

A&M is without a doubt the big brother. We do what we want and are not driven by how we look to people.

TEXAS IS SEC COUNTRY. Big Bro is disabled. Not quite as intimidating.

Not really. Its the same shite over and over again. Once you realize your program is doomed for eternity, solely because one team joined the conference, you throw shite at the wall hoping in sticks. You resort to nonsense.

Your sail is struggling, since you can't include Arky anymore. Oh yeah, Frazier is still a better QB than Brandon Allen.

A&M is by far the worst because they came from being the worst in the country to Texas, and had to not only find a new one, but found two or three of them.

And this is their high water mark because of JFF. So get ready kids, it's gonna get a lot worse.

They are perennial third fighting over scraps with Ole Miss and Auburn from now on except in the occasional off year where one of them climbs out of the bottom.

TAM won't. Texas will get a new coach, crush them in recruiting yet again, and they'll find their level. Yet again.

Auburn is fully aware of their position. LSU is never without confidence they can upset Alabama's apple cart. TAM had one game where they got to get some sloppy seconds after LSU put the beating to that team but they somehow pulled it out.

That's their claim to fame.

TAM is THE little brother of the SEC.

A&M has played in the Sugar Bowl twice. Google is your friend.

1. Donations to A&M last year were the most ever to a public university. Almost twice what was donated to longhorns.

2. Texas A&M has a larger enrollment than longhorns.

3. Texas A&M is a member of a superior conference.

Who is the little brother?

It's crazy how all these long drawn-out bullet point style posts by aggy, (ie constant need for attention, validation, chest thumping, etc), perfectly exemplify the syndrome described by the op.

On the other hand auburn posters are like "meh."

classic aggy

tamu and it's not even close

You are right. Once Johnny Manziel leaves A&M our recruiting will go back to the Fran era over night. Texas will donate money, since they are the Joneses, to all the Big 12 schools to improve their facilities and get more fans to go to games. They will strengthen the competition of the mighty Big 12. Why in the world would elite Texas high school players want to play in the SEC???

Lets see who is the little brother.

Texas A&M. Endowment around 7 billion or so.
Donations this year $750 million
New stadium. $450 million seating 102,000
Largest student population. 55,000
Major research university
How many of you have a presidential library?
How many students attend games and stand and yell 30000 at A&M , more than most of you have total students.
Facilities- with new stadium, second to none
Recruiting- well, Texas nuff said

I could go on and on so let me finish by saying as a Bama and SEC fan, WE are allready A&M's little brother.

We have a long way off the field to catch up with them.
