I'm aware, but just the original tune was in response to A&Ms. The lyrics were added later by a band director. UTs true rival is OU and they didn't play their seasons to beat A&M when the game was still intact.

I really don't care who they're "true rivals" are - I was just correcting your ineptitude and misleading statements. And, for the record, our seasons were never determined by that game - why do you think we joined the SEC?

Texas created their "Hook'em" hand signal in response to "Gig'em"
Texas' Fight song "Texas Fight" was based off of "Farmer's Fight" and the line "Goodbye to A&M" is in response to "Goodbye to Texas University" in the Aggie War Hymn.
Texas' Hex Rally was and still is a pathetic response to Bonfire.
Texas' original nickname was "Varsity" (which is why our War Hymn mentions Varsity) but they later changed it to "Longhorns" which was the name of our Annual.
Texas' mascot "Bevo" was taken from our branding their new Longhorn nutless bovine and branding "13-0" on the side of it the last time they stopped playing us and they made that into a "BEVO" which was the name of a Near Beer at the time.
OTOH, Texas plays OU in Dallas every year and it has traditionally been a good game. Oh, and they say they hate people from Oklahoma. That's about it.
I remember a few years ago someone took a screenshot from Shaggy or some other Texas site and during OU week there were still twice as many threads about A&M than OU. The similar equivalent would be to say that Bama's "real rival" is Tennessee and not Auburn.
As to the OP, A&M isn't "little brother" to Texas in much of anything anymore. Not in age. Not in size. The academics are a wash with each being strong in different areas and both AAU schools. A&M is more powerful politically than Texas. They have us in football history and likely always will due to the post WWII era but other than that not much. We even fired a coach the night he beat Texas for the 2nd consecutive time and this was between the NC appearances for Texas when they were still a real power.

Why is it I always feel like Arkansas is nipping at our heels like a puppy wanting to play?

They constantly feel they need to beat their chest and try to prove they're not inferior.
Kinda like when Arky fans trumpet all time records that largely reflect ancient history in the Southworst Conference as though that matters in the 21st century.

In this contest there really is no competition, Auburn by far has the bigger little bro syndrome.
Y'all are playing them this week, so I'll allow it. Carry on.

At least Auburn fully admits Bama is their big brother. some Aggies don't even want to admit it.
Do you want us to lie?

You might want to stick with something you actually know about.

quote:This describes you perfectly and this thread. You are begging Auburn and A&M for attention at the same time. Your fans and coach have been begging Auburn for attention since the end of last season. Yall can quit we don't want a little brother that whines every time you get something they want.
When one person feels they have a rivalry with another far superior person. The superior person usually doesn't know about it or feel that the little brother is any kind of a threat. The little brother usually puts forth maximum effort in meaningless situations in order to get the feeling of a win over his rival.
As for your troll. It would have to be A&M since AU and UA is the #1 rivalry in CFB. You don't get that way by one side not caring.

The correct answer is A&M until they charge their fight song, it is literally just about Texas.
