From what I've read, BYU is openly interested in joining the Big 12...and I also read that Boise State might be a candidate if they decided to expand...

Boise State and BYU would be my first two choices.

And they don't like it, blee dat.

They'll be loathe to add another out-of-the-way locale unless their hands are forced.

To fix it they added TCU (market they already have) and WVU (makes no geographical sense).

I liked it when Neinas said Missouri shouldn't go to the SEC, because it made no geographic sense (though we border 3 SEC states).

And then when adding WVU, he said geography didn't matter.

I also like booing his arse when we won the final Big XII bball tourney we were in, when he presented the trophy to us.

Oh no doubt that is a big deal but the Big XII would make that accommodation if the choice was BYU or Memphis

1. It's not just the conference - there are tv contracts that would have to be renegotiated, etc.

2. The bevo 12 only makes accommodations for texas. Or maybe OU. As long as it suits texas to do so. But really, just texas.

2010 - The rest of the conference finds out about the secret meeting with the PAC 10. Missouri courts the Big Ten.

Your timing is off. B1G was in expansion discussion behind the scenes from at least 2007. The Blair Report got leaked to the public in 2009 and Missouri's name was on it. You have to figure if it took that long to leak, then Missouri was already in the discussion play a year before that. Problem is they got played by the B1G as the leak of the Blair Report was the cover to allow the real invite and move to be made on Nebraska.

They may be seeking admission into the ACC because they feel the Big 12 didn't abide by the bylaws when determining the conference champion, and they feel that TCU was unfairly supported when they beat TCU head-to-head.

I understand their frustration.

You have yet to provide a source to this other than that you heard it on the radio...

No the problem was when OU made their now famous "wallflower" speech and showed their cards, after claiming fealty to the bev12-4+2, they were lifting their skirt all over the place.

Mizzou never made the rules that saw CU, NU and Aggie leave before them, no matter how many idiots like you want to paint it like we did.

He doesn't have a source on that and the only rumors I've found are from him. I'd disregard that.

They should pick out of Houston, BYU, or Cinncinati.

I hate it for the good guys in the conference but I hope it kills OU and Texas...

There is absolutely no way the ACC would ever take Baylor. You provide nothing.

Mizzou had been on the Big 10 radar since Penn State. I fully believe the stories that came out the said Mizzou was in talks with the Big 10 and balked at the junior membership. Meanwhile, big money Nebraska knew what was going on and decided they could bite the junior membership bullet to get out of the Big 12. Big 10 gets their new member, AAU and all, plus a better traditional football program.

That whole story is pretty well confirmed in my opinion by the number of times Slive mentioned that Mizzou was a full member from Day 1 in the SEC. That wasn't mentioned much when discussing aTm.

Not exactly, cheese grits. The sticking point for Mizzou was the "junior membership" thing. We were very close to that move - close enough that the coaches had been told they would be coaching in that conference the next season. But Nebraska was willing to phase their conference money in over several years and Mizzou was not. Thus Nebraska got that bid.

Funny how things work out. We're sitting pretty in the SEC and a lot of Nebraska fans are growing frustrated with the B1G.

Man, I think UCF and ECU would be good gets.

Athletically, they would be fine and their states ensure some $$$ in TV deals.

Not every school is AAU (Nebraska).

I think they dropped out after joining the Big Ten though.
