With bob stoops leaving OU the big 12 will likely join the AAC and C-USA in relevancy. If UT and OU are smart they will bolt for the B1G/PAC/SEC. say hello to the power 4 where each conference champion will automatically get into the playoffs!

The Big 12 was doomed the moment that A&M and Missouri packed their bags. They were on life support after Colorado and Nebraska said goodbye but losing our two newest SEC members is what did them in.

From a league that could honestly lay claim to being the best football conference in the country at one point to where they are now. Talk about your cautionary tales.

This makes me realize how lucky the SEC is because it really is like "family" here and the only other one to come close would be the B1G. The Big 12 only had a few programs in mind when they made the conference.

Both TCU and West Virginia didn't get full share stakes going into the BigXII. I think they either got them a couple years after being in.

So they got squeezed financially coming in yet they really saved the conference from dissolution. It would have been true for whomever joined, but talk about getting screwed for a couple of year.s

The Big 12 was known for stability in the coaching ranks. The conference is gonna be interesting now.

Texas, Baylor, and OU with first year coaches. Snyder can't have more than a year or two left. Kingsbury is probably on his last leg unless he starts winning.

Outside of Patterson and Gundy. Kind of a mess.

WVU should go to the ACC. notre dame should stop being pussies and get in a frickin conference and the SEC should get a NC and Virginia team.

OSU needs to go all out for the B1G or PAC. That's yalls only chance unless you go independent.

The share and share alike approach is a good reason why the conference as a whole dominates across multiple sports. We are all in this together financially so everybody gets a slice of pie to spend on what they want.

I think the Longhorn Network has a huge stake in destroying the conference.

Oh yeah. But for that I think A&M and Missouri stick with the Big 12.

How many other conference teams do you see rooting for their rivals vs OOC opponents? I see a lot of dawg fans rooting for UT, AU, UF, etc. that doesn't happen in a regular conference.

I personally raise a toast to the LHN. It was our mode of exit, and for that I'm thankful.

The feint that the Big XII had regarding UH this past year was high theater from the beginning. UH didn't expand a footprint and that was the death knell for the school. Had UH been accepted, the Big XII wouldn't have learned a damned thing from the SWC. Back in I think 91 when Arkansas left, the SWC was reduced to a small regional footprint and lost any financial leverage, the same holds true right now, and especially if they had taken UH..

The conference is in a really tough spot. Had they been able to pull ND, it would have probably cemented them but that ship has passed as it looks like ND will eventually go full ACC.

If I am not mistaken, the Big 12 grant of rights is good until 2025. That means any program that leaves the Big 12 before then loses all media rights and I can't see any program walking away from that unless they can get out of it.

The demise of Big 12 Football can be laid squarely at the feet of the University of Texas athletic department. Those greedy cocksuckers thought their shite didn't stink, and they fricked themselves and everyone else in that league in the process. Serves them right.

WVU isn't close to the ACC academics and isn't ND ACC for football?

ND is in the ACC for everything but football. They do have an agreement to play 5 ACC teams a year but that's all.

I think it is only a matter of time before they have to join in football.

I also think the ACC screwed up not inviting WVU....bad move, but the Tobacco road mafia made sure that wouldn't happen

ND needs to join the ACC in the next few years and WVU get invited. SEC needs to get a North Carolina or virginia school at the very least if not both. SEC could fit in an Oklahoma or Texas team only as long as they get an east coast team too.

It all dates back to when the SEC (and the entire South for that matter) was seen as second or third rate. The rest of the country looked down on all things Southern, particularly the SEC. Of course that still holds true today to be honest.

As a result the conference tends to have a "Me against my brother. Me and my brother against my cousin. Me, my brother and my cousin against the world." mentality.

We all want to be the successful team, but in a pinch we will settle for someone else in the conference putting in the boots. We fight and fuss among ourselves but tend to close ranks and destroy any outsider that sticks his noise in our business.

The unofficial motto and logo for the conference is a middle finger and a hearty "Frick y'all".
