One year of no recruiting and your best players graduating is kind of a big deal

Wtf? It's as if Arkansas didn't lose 4 of their first 6 games last season..

The year prior you lost like 6 sec games

They year prior to that you lost 9 games including winning zero sec games

What on earth on you talking about?

So... your argument is we stink but still slap LSU around like Bert caught them trying to steal food off his plate? Well that is one way to look at it I guess.

Oh, my mistake. Please inform all of us Arkansas fans the strong, healthy program he took over. Please tell us about the plethora of talent at QB, WR, TE, RB, Oline, LB, S, and CB that recruiter of recruiters left behind.

We will see if he can recruit a QB. With the OL he can recruit and coach. A really good QB will help them be one of the top teams in the SEC.

I don't think recruiting a good one will be a problem, the bigger issue will be coaching them up.

Seems to be doing quite well in that department. He has recruited the position much better than Petrino, at least on paper. Actually, he has recruited better that Petrino period. As mentioned earlier, Bobby had an instate class of NFL talent WRs fall in his lap, and managed to convince the Allen brothers to walk all the way from across the street(Fayetteville High) and stole Tyler Wilson from Tulsa. His other QB signees were Brandon Mitchell, Jacoby Walker, and Jim Youngblood. Not to mention, he took 7 receivers in one class, most of whom didn't pan out. Wanna guess what taking 7 WRs does to all the other position groups neglected in critical cycles? You inherit what Bret inherited.

Petrino's classes were very poor, it really just shows how much of a mastermind he is when it comes to the offensive side of the ball.

I love hearing people crediting him for being a master evaluator of talent at QB and WR. His track record speaks for itself. I'll go ahead and believe my lying eyes.

He recruited Russell Wilson as a transfer at Wisconsin. Arkansas will need a QB of that caliber to be a top notch SEC team. They will still win enough games to be bowl eligible and will still win some upset games, but will lose some as well. They can not be a contender until they have a top QB.

How he recruits at that position will prove if he is the best hire since Nick Saban. With his style of play he has the chance to be a great coach, but can he recruit a top notch QB.

Sure, we all need good qb play. Every qb on our campus was a 4* with alot of offers. I don't know if any will turn out to be Russell Wilson, but there appears to be talent and competition there.

Many on this board watch nothing other than SEC football, and their respective teams. I'd take a Chase Daniel right now and be giddy.

Ridin' Bob was a great hire until that thing happened.

The year that Bielema, Jones, and Malzhan were all hired, I thought at the time that Bielema was the best hire of the 3....I still believe he will end up being the best of the 3 when we look back in time. He had an exceptionally rough start, but he is building a good team.

Maybe in the SEC if everything works out for Bert. Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh were much better hires. Jimbo Fisher, Bronco Mendenhall, and maybe even Will Muschamp

Mendenhall is a solid coach, and curious to see how he does in VA. I'm not sure I'd call Muschamp a better hire than very many coaches across the country, much less Bret.
