TAMU- footballteam has arguably regressed each year since joining the SEC. Steady football recruiting should keep them a player.

TCU - athletic program is white hot at this point in time. Did have a lousy 2013 4-8 season.

Both teams are reaping the benefit of Texas athletics being down the past 5-6 seasons. Texas will ultimately get out of this quagmire. The question is how soon?

In their last 25 tries TCU is 0-25 against the Aggies.

We've heard the bogus horned frog hype too many times.

And shame on Hugh Freeze and the black bears for letting those TCU headhunters intimidate them.

The rant obsession with a&m is impressive.

A&M is on a better overall trajectory than everyone in the SEC not named Alabama, Auburn or Arkansas. Tied with LSU.

They have regressed in win totals, a lot of that due to losing the GOAT, and the Big 12 recruiting not being sustainable past his exit. The recruiting is better now than it was when we entered the SEC.

The Big 12 sucks, and they have the best coach in the Big 12. If they capitalize on battling teams filled with three stars every week, then they could change the dynamics in the state for a while. They really need a long term growth plan for their alumni to make any real change though. It's a small private school that will crumble if everything doesn't fall their way.

Convenient narrative, but it doesn't really make sense. The state of Texas is enormous and many programs can be successful simultaneously. Alabama and Auburn can be good at the same time, USC/UCLA, Clemson/South Carolina, Florida St/Florida/Miami, etc etc etc. The state of Texas can deliver multiple schools in the state multiple top ten/fifteen classes simultaneously, and that's what it has done. That program in Austin is going through turnover, and if they start to turn it around under Charlie Strong, it won't be at our expense.

OP, you want in the next couple of years or over the next 50 years?

A&M clearly with the next 50 years, but TCU for the immediate future.

Oh God of All Athletics. Please speed the start of this season in you infinite mercy, and spare us from this daily wicked non-sense. Amen.

The Frogs are good Texans and a respected historic rival.
Here's hoping their growth trajectory continues.

Tamu will still be decent when Texas Resurges in 5-10 years.

Tcu will go back to being terrible when this happens.

So in 5 years Tcu could be better, 10+ no.

No, it would return to normal. A place where we used to have decent conversations about football. Aggies have turned the SEC Rant into trash. It's dang near impossible to find anything good to read here since you came along.
