Duke would literally have nothing to gain from staying next year. It's not like he's learning the route tree or anything. The only thing staying next year does is a higher chance of injury before he goes pro.

Duke is gone. DWI

Nobody is making Duke Williams stay, but AS OF NOW, he has said he is leaning towards staying. Sammie Coates will likely go pro, but Duke Williams really loves Auburn and apparently knows he would benefit from staying another year.

Sammie needs to stay more than Duke. The first requirement needed to play receiver is the ability to actually catch the ball. Sammie can not even do that half the time

Preaching to the choir...been saying this since before the 2013 season.

Opposing fans can hope. If he stays to catch passes from Jeremy Johnson, he would likely put up better numbers than Amari Cooper this year

He would have a chance at much higher recognition and CFB success with JJ. I don't know that it matters to him, or that the difference in coming out after an elite year vs. one where people know your innate ability exceeds results is worth staying.

I don't think he stays, but he'd certainly have a much bigger chance for success with JJ.

Didn't hurt Julio Jones, who Coates reminds me of. Freak athlete that catches the tough passes and drops the wide open passes. But, he should return. How many yards and TDs would Sammie have this year with JJ throwing him the football? Think about all those overthrow passes when Coates was running wide open behind the defense. Smh

It is to auburnphan.

Let's do a test and see if the math works the same when I say "Auburn's football team has lost half the SEC games they've played this season".

Did you not read what I just posted? Duke Williams would be put on more of a national pedestal with a quarterback like Jeremy Johnson. Look at what they did together against Arkansas in one half. He could also clean up his routes, improve blocking and prove he can stay healthy a full year.

AS OF NOW, he has stated he is leaning towards returning.

If the Barn had a defense, Marshall would be a leading Heisman contender.

But they don't.

Both are excellent QBs, I think. Equally gifted. I would choose Mashall only because he appears to never be rattled. Like he has ice water in his veins. (I could see Sims achieving this as well with each win boosting his confidence.)

Except for the snap/handoff issues when it mattered against A&M, I could agree. That being said, Sims has had a couple of those himself but just not when it mattered most.

I think Sims is a better passer and can elude pressure better. Athletically gifted the most? Probably Marshall.

Spot on. Very similar to Julio. Coates is a lot better than most think. He's not Amari but if he played anywhere that had a great pocket QB, he'd be getting a few better thrown balls. Dude comes down with some balls due to physical size.

He'll be doubled all year without Coates on the other side. He can do whatever, but the risk/reward factor would make me go ahead and get paid. I wouldn't play another down of college football.

I could easily see Ricardo Louis taking Coates spot. He cant catch the ball either

I guess the only way to answer is which would do better in the other's system. Would Marshall do as well in Alabama's system as Blake has done? Probably not. Would Blake do as well as Marshall in Auburn's system? Probably not. So I guess I have no idea which one is better. Both fanbases are probably happy with the one they have.

Not ALWAYS true..

is an American football wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders seventh overall in the 2009 NFL Draft
