Great post. Amari reminds me of Jerry Rice... Not the fastest... Not the best hands... Not the most elusive... But he just gets it done. Duke looks like a horse for the next level and reminds me of Terel Owens... I don't know how you fire the DC at Auburn though and not at Alabama... Geez... What a raw deal and obviously Kirby was safe no matter what. However, seeing Pellini and Muschamp come available I would be offering both of them $2 million to come be DC at Auburn or A&M...

Are you thinking of rookie John Brown with the Arizona Cardinals?

Yes, that's him. Great find by the Cards! Didn't he play at a small school like Pitt State?

Truthfully the outcome of this will be based on QB play/scheme. In time I think Coop will be an elite receiver at routes/catches (big yard plays). That will be his specialty. Duke will have the ability to make plays down field because of his physicality, not so much route running. This also benefits Duke in the short/intermediate passes (physicality). Coop has excellent breaks, speed, and routes so he has the potential to be good short/intermediate as well, but I think Duke has the upper hand there. Long ball with a good QB, Cooper. Potentially everything else Duke. Both will be legit IMO....but it could be skewed by QB play.

Yes, that's the school he played at. Great find indeed since I think he was an UDFA.

I think Cooper is more polished as a route runner and has more top end speed.

Duke has a bigger frame and is very physical. Rips the ball out of the air.

Really depends on who's drafting. By that, I mean if you NEED a WR, Cooper looks like the safer bet, and probably produces right away.

Duke looks like he has some Megatron in him, and if you already have someone you can depend on as your primary WR for awhile, I'd take the chance on Williams.

Hard to put a finger on who Amari reminds me of. He has a very unique skill set, and his speed (it's elite, not good) is criminally underrated. Williams reminds me a lot of Anquan Boldin. Cooper has the speed and yac ability of a Percy Harvin, but I can't recall anyone coming out that runs routes the way Cooper does. He is great at getting in and out of breaks, but it's the silky smoothness of his head fakes and subtle double moves that does in most Dbs tasked with covering him. He just completely turns guys around on double moves. Antonio Brown is a decent comparison, but Cooper is a more physical player than Brown. A young Steve Smith had a similar game as Cooper but he gives up 4 inches to Amari. Cooper is a different prospect coming out than anyone I can recall.

Coop is way more polished and an easy top 10 pick. Duke has sick upside and with a good combine will go top 20 IMO. Basically, you can't go wrong with either.

f I were a GM/Coach, I would probably pick Duke ahead of Cooper.

Amari is thriving on his superior talent at the collegiate level. That gap will shrink dramatically at the next level, where he's matched against bigger, faster safeties who are also better in coverage.
Watching Cooper against LSU (a team with NFL-quality DBs), Cooper showed a glimpse of his NFL future.
8 catches, 83 yds, 1 TD as the primary target. That's productive, but not game-changing. Was able to get open some, but was also covered and taken out of the play a few times. Never really flipped the field.

You can say he'll have a better QB than Sims, but he'll face better coverage than Collins too; and his QB will face a better pass-rush than Sims also. So it balances out pretty well.

There are a ton of excellent wide receivers in this year's class.

Both these young men are big time playmakers. Was a privilege to watch them in the Iron Bowl. Hope they both have long healthy careers in the NFL.
