A touchdown was scored.... You call that a defensive battle?

Fact, sorry but neither of those teams was on the level of Bama or LSU 2011.

I agree with this as a whole, but LSU's offense the last 1/3 of that year was leaps and bounds ahead of anything we have put on the field the last 4 years. We were a complete team of championship quality at the end of the year. I think it's the best overall LSU team in the Saban or Miles era.

Better Denfensive Battle
AU had the extra 4 players wearing the black and white shirts.

If that game were called fair, LSU wins by 2 TDs. . .at least

Those games were awesome, best smash mouth football I've ever seen in college.

Just line up and go at it. Sad football is moving away from that.

Obviously Bama-LSU '11. That was the most disgusted I've been after a loss because it was such a good game if you like defense.

2011 was better defenses. But as much as I hate to admit it, 06 auburn/LSU was probably more physical. It seemed every hit in that game was urgent and desperate.

2011, the AU-LSU games were great but the game last year featured the best defense of the modern era in college football (Alabama) and the best and most disruptive LSU defense they've ever put on the field.

They (LSU) were stymieing a pretty good 2011 Alabama offense that's going to have 5-6 1st-2nd round draft picks (Richardson, Lacey, Warmack, Fluker, McCarron, Jones, Kouandjio, Steen) on it when all is said and done

The LSU-Auburn games from '04-'07 were some of the greatest games in SEC history. It was no doubt the greatest rivalry during that time.

This. These games were incredible. People just getting blown up every play. It was getting heated between both teams. Cigar game, getting in a fight with the band, stomping on the eye, it was as intense as it gets.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the 2008 Auburn vs Ms. State game.

Any game that ends in a 3-2 score has defensive battle written all over it.
