Ambles is not at SC anymore. He is at an AZ JUCO this fall and will be re-recruited.

Prater I believe transferred to Northwestern.

Interesting take and it really is a good comparison.

Just using the 3-4 this would be LSU

DE Anthony Johnson
NG Bennie Logan
DE Ego Ferguson
Jack Sam Montgomery
SAM Barkevious Mingo
ILB Kevin Minter
ILB Lamin Barrow

Couple of changes to fit the 3-4. Ferguson comes in and is a perfect fit for DE ina 3-4. Have to take Jones out at LB because he's too small for a 3-4.

Bame would definitely rule the inside and one of the DL spots with Nico, Mosely and Williams
LSU would get the outside with Mingo and Montgomery and I'd say one of the DL spots with either Johnson or Logan.
The other DL spot is a tossup.

Putting all bias aside, I firmly do believe that State should be in that DL unit

the fact that Saban really likes Adrian Hubbard and Xzavier Dickson means they'll both end up being monsters.

Btw....I'm not sure thats the way things work

Yeah your a state fan which means you know wayy more about football than Nick Saban. I mean you Grinders have the one of the top 3 d-lines in the nation but will manage to lose 6 games next year and Saban's only produced NFL caliber LBers literally every single year.

It's not, but Saban doesn't praise you just because you play for him. You've gotta impress him. I think Hubbard could be a better pass rusher than Upshaw, and he's better in coverage.

I see Dickson being a decent pass rusher, and an absolute force against the run, but only time will tell for sure. Nothing is solid yet. Yell LSU and Bama could both suck just because.

My "Unit" is the best anyone has ever seen.

Too bad only two people have seen it.

But, they were both female.

I think.

The nations reigning best defensive player (Tyrann Mathieu)

Plays hard and is gritty, but I think he will have a disappointing season this year on the defensive side of the ball. He'll make some big plays and have some key returns, but I think after watching the Georgia and Bama games from the end of last season, teams will start picking on him 1-on-1.

If you don't think Arky has the best backfield in the country please tell me who then? Also name a better stable of RB's than LSU's

I would say arky does, but let's offer food for thought

Georgia, Bama, and LSU could all be debated

Wilson is better than murray and mccarron
I think Lacy is on par with davis
backs 2-4 at bama, lsu, and georgia>>>backs 2-4 at arky though

On the great RB debate, it depends on preference. Would you rather a great back, 2 good backs and an average back, or 4 good backs?

While LSU has 4 guys that could start at tailback for almost anyone in the country I don't think any can be considered great yet, although I think hilliard and ford could potentially be considered great backs. Ware is 3 yards and a cloud of dust with average speed and vision.

A lattimore in pre injury form and his backfield mates would = the best backfield in the country. Monte Ball is a great back as well at wisconsin.

Any discussion of best backfield is debatable to the person's preference really.

Personally I'd take a great back and a few good ones over a stable of good ones, but others may disagree. It's not unheard of for a team to lose their best 2 backs to injury in a season, in that case it's best to have 4 guys with equal ability like LSU has

Clowney/Taylor are a better defensive end combo than Montgomery/Wingo

:kige:

i think LSU has a good group and better talent at the DT spots, but Clowney and Taylor are both freaks. if i had to rank them i'd say 1. Clowney 2. Montgomery 3. Taylor 4. Mingo
