So UF had the best secondary last year? I don't think it's UF we lost 2 first round picks off of last years team. Bama and LSU would be the top 2.

UT has no talent in the secondary. It there weakest unit by far. Bama and UF are the top two then there is a drop off. If you want to lump UT in with that next group that's fine, but they are no where close to Bama.

Rickey Jefferson wasn't bad half the time, but the other half he was garbage. But our secondary is loaded, same with UF and UA.

I think its a toss up between UF, LSU, and UA.

UF is most likely #1

LSU was garbage in the secondary last year and have been living off of past units hype for a while now. White is one of the most overrated players in the SEC. Toliver was out played by the Bama freshman corners and Jamal Adams did not take the next step
After reading this, your football opinion does not matter anymore.

Ricky Jefferson is the only player who isnt a 1st-2nd rounder out of our starters. He might not be that freak we are used to, but he is a senior returning, 3 year starter.

Lots of people not including the number one pass D in the country from last year. We're at least in the top 5.

I will go with Bama. Again. The had more INT's last year and a higher ranked pass efficiency Defense than any other SEC school, save for Ga. Ga was ranked 7th nationally with a pass efficiency rating of 104.99 in 13 games with 12 INT's. Bama was ranked 8th nationally with a pass efficiency rating of 105.22 in 15 games with 19 INT's. Florida was ranked 17th and Lsu wasn't in the top 50.

Much of those stats don't speak to this season or are even good to use to justify a ranking.

For instance, say LSU.. they were up big against some teams.. and even played soft or backups.. and didn't mind giving up chunks of yards or late TDs up big.. even playing backups..

Not sure how to rate them. I do know that LSU was often out of position last season under Steele, and hope Aranda is much much better.

I also know Harris had his best and most efficient game against Florida's defense, and Harris even had some nice completions against Alabama on the road where he was playing a sports hernia injury, he a TD pass... whereas LSU's secondary held Coker to a 37 qbr and Ridley to 7 receptions for only 50 yards and no TDs for either.

As admittedly brutal as Bama's front 7 is, their secondary is way overrated. They get exposed vs solid passing offenses, and they're lucky there aren't too many of those in the league right now.

LSU is 1 and UF is 2. Bama might be 3, though UT and UGA are right up there with th

Bookmarked for future. Also has Cam Sutton's arse hole healed yet? I know Ridley went in dry.

Humphrey, Fitpatrick, Jackson, Harrison, Sheffield, Brown = best secondary in the country. Every single player will play in the NFL and have legit shots of being 1st rounders.

Lastly, Pruitt > Smart with secondaries.

I would say overall season stats speak much more to one's season than a single game. Unless you'd like to judge Fournette on only the Bama game.

Bama returns a lot of it's secondary and the QB play this year will be lesser than last year more than likely. I think Minkah will have an outstanding year for Bama and with the pass rush the front will have, I think they could surpass the 19 INT's from last year as well as the 4 TD returns.

It'll be an interesting season this year though and looking forward to it getting started.

But, 9 for 24 with an INT and a QBR of 5.2 is proficient.

Which team played the best against a decent passing QB ? Which is hard to find in the SEC.

I forgot to mention Georgia, but I do think Georgia could be in the running for top 3 as well. However, I think it's a battle between LSU and Alabama for the top spot. Pruitt will only help Alabama. LSU has the rawer talent though.
