Solid List. I think you can make an argument for our 2013 and LSU's 08 team as well.

2002 South Carolina - Saw them hit some of the longest home runs I have ever seen at Hawkins Field. Played for the championship but lost to Texas. Notable players - Drew Meyer, Landon Powell, Yaron Peters.
2011 Florida - Had the talent to win it all, but couldn't beat South Carolina. Probably the most talented college baseball team that I can remember seeing. The sophomore class was ridiculous. Notable players - Mike Zunino, Nolan Fontana, Preston Tucker, Brian Johnson.
2011 Vanderbilt - First Vandy team to make it to Omaha. Had the talent to win it all, but couldn't beat Florida. Only lost 12 games on the year, 5 of them to Florida. Notable players - Sonny Gray, Tony Kemp, Curt Casali, Aaron Westlake.
2013 LSU - Finished 23-7 in SEC play, which would have normally won the league outright (Vandy went 26-3). Beat Vandy in the SEC tournament championship. #4 National seed but went 0-2 in Omaha with losses to UCLA (evantual national champion) and UNC (#1 overall seed). Notable players - Alex Bregman, Aaron Nola, Mason Katz, Raph Rhymes.
2015 Vanderbilt - Defending national champions, but didn't have a dominant regular season. Still won the SEC East but lost the SEC tournament to Florida. Not a national seed, but didn't lose a NCAA or CWS game until the finals against UVA. Notable players - Dansby Swanson, Carson Fulmer, Walker Buehler, Bryan Reynolds.

You mean our 08 team? Cause our 09 team did win the national championship

What was so great about 85 Bama? One average MLB player doesn't make the team worthy.
97 Bama was much better, so was 98 LSU.

You mean 1983 Alabama? They played Texas for the national title that season. 46-11 and SEC tourney champs. Made it to Omaha out of the south regional (Miami, Florida State, and South Alabama).
And Dave Magadan hit .525 that season. He was an elite college player. While never a elite MLB player, he had a very long career.
Alan Dunn and Frank Velleggia were solid too.

It really can't be understated how that ball off of Morgan's foot in 85 stopped Ms State in the CWS.
Morgan was a sinker ball pitcher who really came into his own the last part of that season.
That's baseball though.

I think that 2013 LSU team was pretty good. Would have been interesting if they had the old bats during that year. It's hard to say a team in post 2011 could compare to a team before 2011 because of the bats

Also the 2012 Stony Brook team. That team hit the ball better than anyone that year. If they had the pitching, they would have won the entire thing

Roberto Vaz getting hurt during the season.
Didn't he hurt himself during BP for the Championship game by stepping on a ball and breaking his foot? It was BP in Omaha for sure, just forget which game it was. He definitely played in the Super Regional in Tuscaloosa.
Those 96-97 teams were fun to watch. Went to just about every game in Tuscaloosa those seasons. Was good friends with the girl Vaz was dating for a while. He was a great guy.

I'd put the 1997 Alabama team above the 1983 team. The 1997 team was loaded but had the misfortune of losing Roberto Vaz in a freak injury right before the CWS and running into an equally hot LSU team in the championship game.
