Best Places to Stay - Things to do in SEC towns

All,
We're planning trips to Knoxville, Tuscaloosa and Oxford (along with several to Fayetteville) this year and I'm sure many others are following their team as well.
How about a useful thread on the pre-season board!
I'd love to get more info about good places to stay, park, eat, etc. in each of the three towns we'll visit this year, but hoped that fans from each locale might post some tips on your town.
Here's my take on Fayetteville for anyone visiting there:
Stay: There are numerous chain hotels up and down I-540 (The bypass). You're ok staying as far north as Rogers. We ususally end up in Springdale as the places in Fayetteville fill up very fast (and some aren't so nice). Most any chain hotel on 540 is going to be pretty new. If you want to get a house and don't mind a drive of about an hour back to the stadium, you can check into Bella Vista a retirement community with several pretty nice houses on VRBO, etc.
Eat:
Several good places. Hermans, AQ Chicken, Doe's Eat Place, Hugo's, Sassy's Red House, The Catfish Hole (the coach's show is here every week), Hog Haus Brewing Company...and just about anything TripAdvisor lists won't do you wrong.
Party:
Dickson Street adjoins the campus to the east. Walk don't drive if you can. There are several bars and restaurants.
Game Parking:
Baum Stadium is south of the stadium and has a shuttle. Won't be too hard to get out after other than the shuttle ride. You COULD walk it but its over a mile. There will be parking ranging from $10-20 per car in numerous gas stations along 6th Street which runs just south of the campus. Most of those are walkable. I'd advise visitors to stay away from the houses and small lots around the stadium in residential neighborhoods as they can be murder to get out of after the game.
Looking forward to your tips on your town!

Unless you're staying with someone or got lucky enough to book a hotel in Oxford, your best bet is staying at the Comfort Inn in Batesville or spending the night somewhere in Memphis then driving down the next day for the game

Stay at L'Auberge Casino if possible when going to an LSU game. If casinos aren't your thing there are plenty of hotels off college drive not too far from campus
ETA: and some good hotels downtown by the bars

I consumed a considerable amount of liquid calories at the hog haus. How's the food?

There are two really nice hotels downtown that have just been built. They are close to all the happenings in that area, nice bars. Go to the strip, visit the Tooth. As far as food goes Ramma Jammas is good and so is Avenue Pub. Plenty of ladies on a football weekend so....

Stay:
Any hotel in town. Hilton is probably the nicest. The closer to northgate and campus the better. Most of the nicer hotels are on university between Texas & HWY 6. There also some nice house rentals if you have a big group.
Eat:
Burgers - Koppe Bridge (best burger), Chicken (best location)
Pizza - Mr. Gs (best pizza), Blue Baker, Antonios (best location)
Fine Dining - Republic or Christopher's
Tacos - Torchys, Fuego, or Coco Loco (hole in the wall shite hole good Mexican)
BBQ - Fargos
Sandwich & Soup - Blue Baker
Anywhere near campus will be good enough. I'm not looking for anything special for gameday. Its about the football.
Party:
North Gate. There are ~20-25 bars all along a 400 yard stretch bording the north side of campus. It gets packed most weekend, but extra busy during gameday weekends.
Game Parking:
There are pay lots all around campus. A few garages if you get there earlier enough. There is a very extensive shuttle system that run often. Even the far away spots can be walked to. There are some neighborhood south of Kyle where you can park along the street. Those fill up fast, but if you're willing to walk there will always be room there.
Tailgating:
There is tailgating wide spread all over the place. My favorite spots are Cain Park & Simpson Drill Field (tailgate guys run this), Spence Park (directly east of Kyle, where the lake is going), Reed/Lot 62(?) (across the track/Wellborn)

Stay:
If you stay downtown, you can walk to the stadium (if you don't mind some exercise) in 45 minutes or pay a couple of bucks for the shuttle to Commonwealth.
I recommend downtown because there are lots of bar/restaurant options.
1. Hilton
2. Hyatt Regency
3. Gratz Park (an older, historic hotel, a few blocks from the shuttle, but no biggie)
If you plan on coming, reserve early because these will be full well in advance. There are a couple of hotels on campus as well, which is a closer walk to the stadium, but a longer walk to downtown.
Eat:
Again, staying with the downtown theme, there are a few places that you should hit up.
1. Sawyers - burgers, only open at lunchtime, the best in Lexington
2. Dudley's on Short - fine dining, delicious
3. The Village Idiot (also on Short) - gastropub with a great beer selection
4. Sav's - West African spot, a few blocks from the hotels but ridiculously good; get the lamb ragout
5. Tony's - Chicago-style steakhouse with Chicago-style prices; very good but pricy
Drink:
There are a ton of bars downtown, so I'll just describe a few.
1. McCarthy's Irish Pub - go here for a casual drink
2. Trust Lounge - go here if you want bottle service and a big-city type club
3. Stagger Inn - go here if you want live country music
4. Parlay Social - go here if you wore slacks and a bow tie to the game
5. Two Keys Tavern - go here if you are a college kid
Game Parking:
As discussed above, if you stay downtown, you can take a convenient shuttle (or walk 45 minutes or so) to get to Commonwealth. If neither of those work, there is a ton of parking around Commonwealth in yards and driveways. Generally, it's $20.00.

Too late for you to stay in Tuscaloosa. It was too late months ago. I always stay in Hoover anyways.

I went to NG more weekends than not last year... are you sure there are that many?
Posted on 8/3/15 at 11:41 am to theGarnetWay
Yes. Remember the small shot bars that count and go all the way from Chimys to Cedar Lane.

Auburn has plenty of nice hotels in the Opelika area but they are expensive on game weekends. Unreal

Ole Miss,
Friends are renting a house, is the most convenient flight plan (for the peons that don't have access to a PJ) to fly into Memphis, rent a car, and drive down?

We have an official guide to Auburn that we used to update on our team board but I haven't touched it in probably 2 years. If I get some time I'll update it and post it here

Nope.
Are you talking about that row where O'bannon's and the Tipsy Turtle is? I've been to O'Bannon's and that big one that changed it's name (I think someone said it used to be called Daisy Dukes, not it has some number in it). Never been to Tipsy Turtle or the small one next to it so maybe that's why I can't really picture it.
