Bama fans who do you think is the best HC from the Saban coaching tree? Kirby Smart , Jim McElwain , Will Muschamp ect.

Can he really be considered a part of his tree?

Not Jimbo? He's the only one with the ring and that's pretty much all that matters IMO

Dantonio at Sparty , but Jimbos pretty good to.

McE is good , Muschamp a wreck, and Kirby how would you know.

Dantonio is a very good coach. If he would be as open minded and progressive as Saban he could probably win a couple of national titles.

You must be referring to the Glen Mason coaching tree, then.

Mac was more of a hired hand than someone I'd consider to be an apprentice or truly from Saban's line but out of those you listed he's shown the most. He's still too new to really judge completely though.

I have no idea how long and who all Dantonio has coached under and I don't really care. I know he coached under Saban at Michigan State and based on the list provided by the OP I assumed having spent just 2 or 3 seasons under someone made you part of their tree. If you see it different I don't really care that much.

Ok, so if it isn't the first person who gave him a power 5 job or the first person to make him a coordinator (Jim Tressel), how the hell are you defining it?
