Crazy to see Holtz's numbers. Miles is 112-32 with a national title and two conference titles at LSU, yet he's criticized constantly by the fanbase (myself included).

Nutt couldn't recruit worth a shite. Once a good majority of Orgeron's developed recruits left, Nutt had no prayer

Cutcliffe would be one.

Holtz would definitely be another, but it wasn't for lack of success, but he had trouble working under Broyles, which others also had.

Richt remains to be unknown, but personally I will probably be rooting for Miami to succeed. Smart may not prove to be an upgrade.

Ruffin McNeill. East Carolina did him dirty.

Holtz made a political ad for Jeese Helms in his office in Fayetteville.Hog logo and all.
This didn't set well with a lot of people, much less Broyles.Helms was untraconservative and was working to block MLK day.

Holtz was getting too big for his britches and his recruiting was slipping as well.I liked Holtz, but wasn't sad when he was let go...

that was Eli's sophomore season. to be fair, there were fewer bowls. No one would ever be left out of a bowl today and fewer games played in the regular season. Had Ole Miss added a cupcake to the schedule for a 12 game season, Cutcliff would have gone 8-4 and 4-4 in the SEC, . Not great, but very respectable for Ole Miss at the time. Also, those 4 losses includes a 2 point loss in 7 OT to Arkansas, a 6 point loss to co-west champion @ Auburn, and a loss to top 20 Georgia. It also included a win @ SEC Champion LSU. The onlyt bad loss on that schedule was to State, and yeah that was bad.

Ole Miss went 7-4, Bama went 6-5. Ole Miss beat Bama. Bama goes to a bowl, Ole Miss stays at home.

Yes, I'm still rustled.

over what? ... shreveport during christmas? ... i'd bet the farm your players preferred being at home ... and most of your coaches ... (i know you're not serious) ...

can't include holtz since that whole fiasco will never be fully known/understood ...

Gene Stallings.

This.

7-5
11-1
13-0 (SEC and national champs)
9-3-1
12-1
8-3
10-3

He would've won 6 SEC titles in his 7 years if not for Spurrier.

Was so pissed when I found out he was leaving, and later found out why. And then we hired Dubose which made it all so much worse.

And then Dubose beat us twice in the same year.

I know, I was as shocked as everyone else that he pulled that off. Obviously the team overcame our coaching deficiencies.

Although according to a certain fanbase it's impossible to beat the same team twice.
