North of Baton Rouge on the eastern part of Louisiana doesn't produce many players in Vidalia, Ferriday, Lake Providence, Tullulah, St. Joseph. Etc

I was originally thinking about that, but ASH put out some studs recently (Chris Brown, Nic Harris). Leesville has put out some too.

Nico and Craig Sanders are the only two I can think of in recent memory. Maybe I'm just subconsciously thinking of all the bad h.s. teams in that area.

Courtney Upshaw, Nico Johnson, Nick Gentry, Dee Milliner, and Nick Perry.

Just in case a map is needed:

The Alabama Wiregrass, at least politically, is in green.

How about the panhandle region? I know Wuerffel came from Ft. Walton Beach, I don't really recall of any other big players from the panhandle.

Trent Richardson and Emmitt Smith were from P'cola.

There have been a lot of great players from the Panhandle Region of Florida. Just for Alabama, there has been former All-American OG, Mike Johnson. And currently Trent Richardson. D.J. Pettway might be a name worth mentioning one day too.

Most of the conass areas are not usually great because we are small folks.

? is that?

As for the panhandle. Not as much population but still some great players, programs up that way.

I would also say the Dothan/wiregrass region is really talent deprived.

Definitely. Upshaw is from Eufaula and Nico Johnson is from Andalusia, but the last guy I can remember from Dothan to play for Alabama or Auburn was Hirchel Bolden and Gabe Gross back in the late 90's. LSU picked up some fat white O-lineman from Dothan a couple years ago but he is awful.

Although per capita I think Belle Glade has produced more NFL players than anywhere else in America.

Livingston parish is the worst. L. Turner and Hawkins were the last couple that I can remember. Most kids in LP are to busy with Chemistry projects

Worst; St. Landry, Pt. Coupee, Grant, Concordia, Catahoula

Pretty much everything between the two major interstates is suspect. Alec will put one out occasionally as will Leesville.

None of the guys you listed have played at any SEC school in the past 40 years. That would equal a shitty recruiting area in Louisiana to me.

Maybe LSU would have won a few more MNC's since 1958 if they had recruited Ferriday more.

Not the best part of the state for academics either.

Neither is Natchez and Vicksburg right across the river and they have put out a lot of D1 and SEC players.

Hugh Green & I were both born in Natchez, but both of those events occurred long ago.

What players from Natchez or Vicksburg have played in the SEC recently? Just curious.
