I never said he did. At this point in his career it isn't warranted. You should probably check up on the thread, since you don't seem to know what's going on in here, chief.

now does "all time" really mean "All-Time" or just since Spurrier or Saban came to the SEC ?

Don't think anyone could go wrong with Alabama's Harry Gilmer, LSU's Tommy Casanova or Bo or Herchel.

You keep moving the target. If you keep saying different things in different posts, it is hard to respond to you. What I said in the quoted portion, and what you said in your previous post are world's different, cochise.

Don Hutson

i was wondering how far back the op wanted to take this conversation.

don hutson is way, way before my time but, this guy basically created the model for the modern wr in the nfl and did pretty ok for himself in the old time sec.

The best player is easily Cam Newton, since he only played one year though the argument becomes best career. Choices would be Bo, Herschel, Tebow.

Most on this board are young, so they can't go back any further.

This is the correct answer.

Yeah I think this but Cam could easily slide into best overall. He's the best I've ever seen in my time. I think I was too young to really know Bo...but don't get me wrong, Bo Knows Football

he debate over who is the "best all-time SEC football player" often comes down to whether you pick the player who was the best player (i.e. individual records, success in the NFL, etc) or the player who contributed the most to his team (i.e. the Most Valuable Player)... Opinions?

Bo was stuck in the wishbone for part of his career- had he had 3 straight seasons as an I-back- he would have twice the numbers

Its very rare that you find the person who is wise enough to realize this.
